MWO has a wide range of camo colors providing a nearly endless array of very sweet-looking and cool military mech patterns.

They also provide an equally impressive number of garish and ugly patterns, paint jobs so ugly they make 1969 hippy vans look like masterpieces of understated design.

I suggest we go with it. Put all bright and garish colors (FRR Lite Red, Pleione, Xanh) on 75% off sale Friday (probably not big sellers anyway) and half off most patterns, then have everyone submit their in-game (no testing areas) screenshots by Sunday.

Award prizes for light/medium/heavy/assault, Ugliest IS, Ugliest Clan, Ugliest of the Ugly, Ugliest Two Color (have to assume most of the ugliest will use three colors for maximum retina damage).

A good grand prize would be free unlocking of say 10 colors and the opportunity to work with a PGI artist to create a new camo pattern for their favorite mech, named after them (e.g., Vossiewulf Super Disrupt) - basically anyone creative enough to win an ugly mech paint job contest should have that creativity encouraged Posted Image Others get 7 or 5 free colors and a unique cockpit item (maybe an Atlas in a hideous paint pattern).

Of course I've only been around four months so the next response will probably be PGI just did this one month before I started, so STFU and GBTW noob.

i don't think pgi has done this before but i like it and will support it :)

only problem is that PGI probably has their hands full with the tourney and stuff so it will probably be after the tourney's over

I think the DWF is almost not fair. Big fat mostly ridiculous looking thing in solid gray, in some of those patterns in the most garish colors they could easily cause your brain to color overheat and shutdown, with permanent damage to the cones in your retina. Blammo, colorblind.

*a very small one

That's funny, I did buy Pleione and have applied it to several 'mechs. But I do admit, ive' only used the color in small amounts.

The only problem I see here is it is situational and objective.

For all you know what you consider are 'ugly' colours may end up actually currently being the most popular ones overall (as MW: O spreads through many cultures, age groups and generations, etc) that for you and your friends this hot pink colour may be fugly but in some other place of the world everyone uses it.
That or maybe the colours you thought are ugly stand alone perhaps is really good on a certain camo or set of colours and may be top sellers for that or what ever...

Then we got the problem on what you would consider an ugly pattern or colour...
To be quite honest I do not consider any 'ugly' however I do dislike Buccaneer the most which is followed by a mix mash tie of Snowfall and Viper.

We can have PGI judges nominate three in each category and then let the players vote on the winners. That's as democratic as it could get.
