Domination mode forces players to congregate around one area. As I am leveling up a brawler HBK-4SP, I find Domination to be ok. I much prefer Conquest and Skirmish over Domination though, as those mode actually have more fluid movements made by two teams. Domination on Polar is just sad and funny at the same time, depending on the amount of LRM boats.

I'd like to see more outside objectives to thin the herd at the capture zone. I think that would make it a little more interesting.

Make Alpha and Beta both worth 30 seconds shaved, and people will have some incentives in defending them.

Why not 2-3 circles, and if ANY get capped by either team ~ insta-loss? Then you have an incentive to not death-ball, as you'll quickly lose an objective.

Domination Rocks !!! Posted Image
I love the pressure, and think that its an awesome contrast to the other game modes which often turn into 10 minute pop-tarting hillhumping sniper events... and then ends up in a deathball.

This would definitely be an improvement.

I choose it every chance I get. It forces the timid peek'a'booers to change or lose it.

I don't like domination because it doesn't actually promote sound military tactics. The arbitrary time limit makes it a rush to "get inside the circle!" every match. From there, the enemy is usually only 400 to 500 meters away...

You can't really stay outside the circle since all it takes is a small force to block your way while one guy calmly stands behind the dish. It's skirmish inside a tiny circle basically. The Alpha / Bravo points? Sure you can delay the enemy by 15 seconds for each, but only if they've already counted down that much... Whoopey... :/

Basically the only "good" strategy is to get in the circle and hard push the enemy force out while leaving long rangers inside the circle, so you don't get cap sniped by a sneaky light. That's it. Has anyone actually won Domination from outside the circle? I know I haven't. Every victory we've had has been some variation of "push them out, leave 1 or 2 behind". Not a very dynamic mode IMO...

Because that would make sense, and we can't be having any of that.

Most people hate Domination because they prefer to play peek a boo or sit back and snipe/lrm. If they play like that and there arent enough brawlers to carry the hiders, the hiders like to QQ about the game mode. You, that is right, <YOU> have to fill in the gaps that your mech cant, or you can lose.

And complain on the Forums about the game mode about how much it doesnt fit into your style of gameplay.

My chief complaint is the lack of dymanic strategies. In skirmish mode, if a team is holed up in a zone, you can plan a strategy against them based on what you've got. The tiny circle and time limit kill that in Domi mode.

Yes, you type that into All Chat every time I drop with you in Domination mode.

Then you trundle out into the open on Alpine with your Atlas DDC and die while dealing 10 damage. That particular match was fun for me since I was that Awesome on the small ridge pelting you with PPCs and killing your ECM the whole time.

You might enjoy Domination Mode more if you tried to milk the tactical value of it. It's more than a "rush to the center" on maps with the cap zone in the open if your team knows how to take advantage of terrain features. You can let the enemy rush into the open like lemmings and then slaughter them, for instance.

LMAO from your post everyone must hate domincation.

Hiders hate because they get pushed and lose.
Brawlers hate it because the hiders dont help.

Sounds no-one like domination....

I have mixed feelings about it. On certain maps it's nice because it forces sides to concentrate in a small space, so brawlers get more action. On the other hand, on maps like alpine it's just a senseless killzone.

No they don't. They "dislike" the hiders, and play the best they can ;)
That is the difference in mentality between hiders and brawlers. Taking responsibility or making excuses.
