Title says it all, was playing with smurfy mechlab, and had an idea, how about to put 4x gauss on a direwolf,i think its the only one capable of doing this without too much drawbacks, ignoring the fact about not having weapons to defend yourself against lights and etc...

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...097846619d8470f

Just i choose the dwf-b variant, and put the dwf-prime left arm (or one with ballistic hardpoint), then put 4x gauss but you will have to reduce some armor, so i reduced it from legs and then i reduced a bit from left arm and head to get 6t of ammo...

Maybe the dwf-s can do better since it has JJ so you can jump and shoot gauss, but then you will have to reduce more armor from other parts (unless you dont mind low even more the legs) to fit the gauss and ammo

Pre gauss cooldown nerf: Bad gimmick/troll build that could occasionally do well, and was reasonably fun to pilot if left alone.

Post gauss cooldown nerf: Do not want.

I'll hop in my 6xAC2 king crab before I go back to the 4x gauss DWF.

For shiggles and giggles? Heck yes, I'll ride it! Shave off some arm armor for more ammo. No one shoots at the Whale's arms. ;)

any more "troll" builds that might work? ofc im at tier 4 playing quick play so wont need something competitive... i want to test the 4x direwolf, but its too expensive and i have to think it (maybe ill buy it since i still have 17-18 Premium days active)

i have already played jalapeño nova with 14x flamers and with 14x ersmall lasers (instashutdown if alpha them)...

i usually play dual ac20 jagermech, my favorite tactic is show me up to their lights and then wait hided, so some come thinking i will be an easy prey alone, only finding a 40 damage alpha that usually kills them or left them badly damaged (and i finish them off with 2 med lasers)

Triple Gauss rifles on a Dire Wolf is more effective in my experience. The fire you can lay down with the Gauss rifles especially with the charge mechanic is still devastating, and it allows for more ammunition and backup weapons.

well i dont search efectiveness, but the 60 alpha damage looks too good Posted Image

same thought i had when buliding 14x er-small lasers on the nova prime, 70 damage "almost alpha" but low range worked surprisingly well for me, not all people expect that amount of damage...

if i get bored of it i can always try this one:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...3da5d806ec99f3f

6x uac2 with 4x small lasers, tc mk1 and active probe with 787 rounds for ac

direwolf have many ways of make fun builds i see but i hate its slowness :(

If you replace some flamers with heavy beam weapons, you can shut them down and blow their head off while they're standing still.

I've been known to run a 3x gauss 3x med DWF. It's a beast.

you cant shoot 4 Gauss Rifles at once. You can only charge 2 Gauss at a Time. There is no 60 point Alpha.

Kodiak will have some nice high mounted ballistic hardpoints and it will be able to carry quad gauss with STD300 and about 9 tons of ammo.

I tried all flamers a week or so ago

After 16 seconds it makes your Mech over heat

I would try the build if I had a DW but I am pretty sure it won’t work
PGI would either make you blow up

Or your weapons would get knocked out by a ML from a 1000 meters

Quad Gauss Dire i have run back when you could get 3 of them in group drops supported by 3 dual Gauss Jagers.
Was fun but not the best build.

No, and if you spend your time playing troll builds you are going to have a bad time when the rest of your team's efforts take you to T3 despite your lack of developing skill at the game.
