Please fix this?
Make it so my screen does not change until I hit the enter key, please?
Thank you.

Trying to communicate and EVERYTHING you've typed is thrown away, and you have to retype, AND GOD-FOR-F'ING-BID that the new person your spectating dies before you've retyped.
PLEASE fix this, I don't think my keyboard is going to survive much more frustrated pounding...

So we won't see it for a while.
Top men sir...Top. Men.
I really would like to see chat fixed. Its annoying to have screen switches interrupt you, or have the chat disappear after a couple seconds, wherein I miss something a teammate relayed. I, as a PUG, try to use both chat and VOIP if possible when I am feeling social.
If possible...editable chat, change the duration of it staying on screen, text size at least or some way to scroll up when some lunatic spams chat.

Its not THROWN away, its there, it you hit enter it will send what you WERE typing but you cant SEE it anymore.
It is super annoying though, and pretty lame that PGI doesn't look into bugs like this when they make a game that relays 100% on the communication of your team for success.
I still cant get my VOIP to work have set it up 4 or 5 times but when i PTT nothing happens....
Lame.

Yeah, I was going to go into a little more detail about how MWO's chat is soooo broken. I wish there was a spot you could have the chat "on" at all times and not have it disappear. There's a number of things wrong with MWO's chat interface and frankly I don't understand why it's been done as piss poorly as it has been. Doesn't make any sense to me.

One of many, many chat bugs or missing basic features.
And not even the worst.
IMHO, the worst is that some messages sometimes don't get transferred.
There's a 2015 thread somewhere with a pretty good and long list of chat deficiencies.
The chat MUST have been written by an intern or completely clueless script-kiddy.
A thread like this here pops up every few weeks.
It's unbelieveable that PGI appears to absolutely don't care to fix it.

I usually get whatever i typed where ever i stopped,
so it different for each of us then, nice. Doesnt surprise me...
If i was saying GL HF, kill stuff and all i got out was "GL HF, Kill Stu" before the swtich when i hit enter it jsut send that, i can even keep typing but it doesnt show me what im typing. But if i typed the FF it could in fact send it correctly.

Expect a fix in 2017 in the autumn, which will become December solstice because that's obviously autumn and not the winter one right ...

I'm trying to warn teammates where they are and what they're doing and I get cut off mid sentence when the mech I'm watching dies then I have to retype only to have the next mech I'm watching die then I'm like "F- it". lol
Oh I almost forgot the one where you press "T" for team chat but it thinks I pressed "U" for global chat.

have dis/re connects and kills that are displayed separate from chat messages
a way to scroll back chat text
option to change location of chat text
option to in/de crease the amount of chat text displayed
option to have global/team/lance chat text split in to different locations (ie all global messages go to 1 gui, team to another, and lance to a 3rd gui location)
