Didn't want to necro any old threads, so wanted to ask here for some fresh advice...

I purchased some MC that added the ACH as a bonus last month, and I'm torn between several pod/weapon combinations, yes/no on the TC, and heat management.

Stock, it comes with 6xERSML's, TC MK I, 4 mounted dbl hs's (9 eng), and ECM. 1.22/2 for heat mgt, with a possible 30pt. alpha over a 1 sec duration and 200m optimal range.

Tbh, i'm not that skilled yet at keeping my lasers on-target while I'm moving vs. an opponent who's also dancing. Neither have SRM's been particularly useful to me; again, that's lack of skill on my part (been relying on streaks and TC/BAP for quick locks for my SSRMs). With ammo requirements, I don't see an ac/gauss build being viable; perhaps mounting a ppc could work?

ER small laser vs. small pulse laser...you save a 1/2 ton with the ER, while only needing 1/4th second more duration on target; heat and cool down are the same with the sm pulse doing 1 more damage per weapon. 35m advantage for the ER's optimal range, +63m for max range.

What are your thoughts for a build designed to counter enemy lights, and perhaps harass enemy lrm boats behind their lines? Do you keep it stock? Drop heat sink(s) to mount some srms or...? I'd love to keep the ecm of course Posted Image .

Thanks!

If you're struggling to keep lasers on target, SPLs will be easier since their duration is shorter. Lose the TC1 and a DHS and try 5SPL. Honestly, ERSLs and SPLs are really the only really useful ACH builds (ERMLs can work but are much much harder to use well).
