So I assume that the MWO version of this omnimech is not going to have that unique torso-leg segment?

Do you really want a mech without the ability to Torso-twist?

I mean, if it was a Quadruped, at least it'd be able to side-strafe and ****, but a torso-less biped is the worst thing ever.

but I mean... What is the point of adding it at all then?
Its original design is what makes it unique and interesting.

However if its traits are not sufficient for this game, then no need to add it. Why not add something else that fits better?

These actions just seem to twist mechs into what they are not, while also taking away the development resources from something that could've fit way better into the game instead.

It can still "torso" twist… It's just that instead of it being a literal torso twist with your legs stationary, the hips(shoulders), knees, and ankles will bend/contort to “twist” the rest of the body around. But it’ll be limited to about 10 degrees each side before the body/torso starts clipping with the leg structure, assuming that the shoulders are ball jointed.

F-yes. The Nova was awesome in MW2. I was really disappointed that not only did it lose its unique characteristic going into MWO, but it can't even fire all of its lasers.

If the nova could not torso twist it would be the worst mech in the game.

ok ok ok, first off i like being able to Turn, why?

just think this is more than Just Torso Twisting,
Yes you can alittle with your legs like the onld TRO pictures but 10Degrees isnt Enough,

just think about all the problems that would come with a Horrible Twist Angle,
1) you have to Always Face your Opponent, so you have to Rush or Back Away,(no Lateral Movement),
2) this means that Opponents with ACs/PPCs/SRMs will have Much Easier time Aiming and Hitting you,
3) your limited to One Style of Play, Rush at and Face Tank, the NVA & VPR arnt designed to Tank,

the Nova works now Better then it Did in Past MW Games because it has a Waist,
it can move around Buildings and Corner shoot, which it wouldnt have with out a Waist,

the Viper will Fight by Running past other Mechs using its Speed and Twist Angle to Run and Gun,
Take the Waist away and you have to Charge your Opponent, just think what would happen,

have they neutered any mech that way? Locust. Ebon Jag, Nova? No? Why? Because it's a death sentence.

Besides, imagine your mech has no pelvis. It stands that much closer to the ground and your low mounted arm hardpoints are nowshooting into the dirt! DoA !! ;)

Yeah, the mech HAD to be reworked to fit this game, or else they'd make about $40 on the package (that'd be me and you, OP, paying for the standard packs). What worked in TT does NOT work in MWO, and we've known this for the better part of 4 years now.

What we DO have, is the wonderful Alex Iglesias. He took that tired, ugly, old image of the Viper, and he made it his b***h. He turned it into something downright BEAUTIFUL. Maybe (okay, ALMOST CERTAINLY) this thing is going to suck in the game. But it's going to look SO f***ing pretty doing it. I've seriously considered upgrading to the collector's edition JUST for the sweet paint job on the one (S) variant (the most expensive single variant, by the way). I mean, LOOK AT IT! GORGEOUS!

Oh, it'll still have its own unique flavor. Something like three day old taco meat, cat food, corn chips, and gym socks. Feet & @$$. HOT feet & @$$, actually. With a hint of Alpo.

Why am I still awake?

The twist-less Nova in MW2 was manageable due to jump jets being directional. In that title, you could use your jets to pivot on the spot, making it (or any other mech using it) remarkably nimble. You could also use them to thrust directly behind, sending you flying forward at immense speed without lifting off the ground. (There is footage on youtube of people using this method in a Firemoth to reach speeds of over 350kph...lololol)
