I have 3 MWO accounts (dont judge me lol). My main which is set up and works with steam (bought the med mech DLC via STEAM and also many purchases via in game and online store and it worked fine). I also have an alt account I use in the lower Tiers and 1 other account my Son uses. My son launches his Game via his own STEAM account but I also help him grind Cbill on his account when he is not here but I do this via the client from My STEAM account, I just put in the Email address I created for him.

1, If i purchase DLC from the store how do I know which account It will put it on? (I assume if I purchase DLC on my sons steam account it will go on his MWO account as I first launched his game via his STEAM client).

2, How do I purchase STEAM DLC for my ALT account ( not my sons but my lower tier alt account) or is that not possible on my STEAM account? (I dont mean in game or online MWO store its just the STEAM DLC).

Where is it against TOS to have multiple accounts? Just had a look through and couldn't find it.

It isn't against ToS sharing accounts is, there are events on the forums expressly for alt accounts

Eh, so I'm wrong, i remember ages ago the devs saying they didn't want alt accounts being a thing... figured it got worked into the TOS somewhere.

If it were against TOS, PGI would not have agreed to split some into separate Clan and IS ones.

Nice work you guys, you are more concerned about seeming righteous and all knowing (aka white knighteous syndrome) and managed to not even answer the original question.
In short, no you would not be able to buy any thing for your alt account not linked to steam like a steam package. That's the kicker with steam

You could however gift yourself packages through the game website. That would work. Hope that helps

Multiple accounts is OK, sharing is not, if your friends want to play, they can create their own accounts (which is free anyway), if they want to pilot the same mechs, turn to them and say with a smile, "So, do what I did and work for it or buy them yourself. And for heavens sake, get your own computer!" lol

I also have 2 accounts (Technically 3, but can't use the 3rd)

My first account- Can't use, chose wrong gfx setting and can't click on any of the settings buttons to fix it which were shifted off-screen, which was my Beta Account. Uninstalling/re-installing the game had no effect.

Second- Character Specific for a character I played in Battletech Mechwarrior, which I don't use as her (My character was female) 'mech is not available in MWO (HCT-3F (5S) Hatchetman), may make her my "Clan Account".

Third- My primary account (This name), which has all my Mech Packs (Own all IS mech packs except the Warhammer and Urbanmech's) and the Kodiak and Phoenix Hawk Pre-Ordered.

Would love to get to use the first one to work again, but so far I've been unable to fix it, may have to contact Technical Support. Won't use the second until either next tax season or when we eventually get the Hatchetman (Which isn't likely before next tax season, or ever, lol)

It's called "correcting a misconception/falsehood". It has nothing to do with being a white knight.

Heaven forbid no one ever corrects any false information being spread across the forums.

Again, not answering the threads question. Talking about ones' self instead of addressing the post, that's original.
Thought about it some more, you COULD technically get it to where you could purchase steam dlc for all account but it wouldn't be worth the time in my opinion. I would just gift the packs on here at the store to your apt account. You would then activate through the code that you would get in the email linked to your alt account. Then come back to game site hit redeem, voila! You're in business.

To do it on steam you would need to create a second steam account and then link said alt account to said alt steam account. Not worth the trouble but doable

. Riiiight because a forum devoted to a fictional setting isn't rife with misconception. My point was just to make light of how all too often a thread gets derailed from the get go by misconception fixing not white knight not troll not flame not beards. Not saying that's what you are, just Super Saiyan. And ya that misconception needs to go away, people should be allowed to just enjoy a game and it should be easy and accessible. And for crying out loud someone asks for help, try to help

I did not know the answer to the question, but was concerned about the scaremongering about multi accounts.

Fair enough, it does irk me about the way they decided to do the steam packs. Since I run an Innersphere and a Clan account separately I do not want dirty Clammer crutch Mechs on my beautiful IS account or underscrub freeborn junk on my glorious Clan account

Go to C:\Users\(your windows username)\Saved Games\MechWarrior Online\Profiles\(your ingame name)
Then delete attributes.xml

That should work

I think you get a redeem code that can be entered at the top of the website redeem button

What do you mean by DLC ?

If its something from the mechwarrior store just login to whichever account on this forum and it should be fine .
