Okay, I am looking at the first tier Clan loyalty mech. I am seriously considering the Shadowcat, as I don't own a shadowcat at all. However, they also have a loyalty Nova. I already have most of the other mechs on the list. And I already have a Nova. Is there any reason to pick that over the shadowcat? Is there anything else on that list that I normally wouldn't be able to get? Let me know what you guys think.

Which Loyalty Mech?

I have both the nova and shadow cat, both are good jumpers.
Shadow cat is faster and has masc to make it faster still, but it has fewer hard point options, and carries less payload
But you can go fast
Main builds for the shadow cat are Dual PPC poptart which I use alot
Can also do missiles, streaks and atms seem to be the ones most used
Also have you considered the Arctic Wolf Loyality mech, its pretty mean beast for its size if you dont have one

Is there another mech that isn't normally available that would be better?

When I saw that list for my own loyalty mech, I could not see a better mech than the Artic Wolf.
I either had the other mechs or I heard they were meh.
So I went with the meta/better, and IMO and maybe others too, that the Artic Wolf is more meta/better than the nova or shadow cat
Or to put it another way, its easier to do well in the Arctic Wolf compared to the nova and shadow cat
Strong Streak Boat
Strong SRM4 Boat
Could even maybe be strong a lerm 5 boat (same weight as SRM4), but that's just a guess I must test
Still the winner is Arctic Wolf
Im wrong
Shouldnt post when Im tired (Thought it Omni and theory crafting, doh)
soz

If the pakhet is a choice I'd take that.

I've set my highest single brawling mech damage #s and kill counts for quick play matches in my twin ER Medium / triple streak-6 ECM shadowcat. My current record for match damage stands at 1,434 pts on it and for match kills at 7. Its a mean little 45 ton mech. So many players setup their mechs for hiding in back firing from some window at a distance that they're utterly ****** when someone sneaky with a close range punch sneaks up the stairs and creeps through their bedroom door.

I like the shadowcat. This mech is fast, has mask, ecm, jump jets and high mounted weapons. But overal it's a "niche-mech" which can provide you a different playstyle.
Other good medium mechs (of this reward program) are the Huntsman and the stormcrow. Both are omni-mechs so you can switcht the omni-pods and try different loadouts and playstyles. As far I know the Arctic Wolf of this reward program is a battlemech, so it has fixed hardpoints.

That's right. And it's also the only one that is not set-up for missiles, with only a single hardpoint in the CT. But it's the only ACW that can run ballistics.
