Been awhile since I posted anything on the forums but just need to.blow of some steam.
First of all I love MWO. And I love the community for the most part. With that said and I'm sure all of you can relate to what I'm.about to say.

Map: Frozen City
90% of the time the first half or even more than that is a long range fight or poking at the enemy team until someone decides to push up. I personally don't like that but it's ok.
This match I had a medium shirt Range build. UAC 20s medium lasers on my HbK IIC. So there is nothing I can really do except avoid incoming fire and wait to see what my team is gonna do.

Comms are hot. Two.of the pilots decided to speak up and lead the team which is a good thing except we got other Pilots who are charging the enemy by themselves. So we lose two pilots right off the bat. The two guys talking are going at it to see who has the bigger balls. I'm avoiding incoming Lrms. One guy keeps yelling into the comms "Get alpha everyone get alpha!!!"

Alpha is a Locust. So everyone starts chasing this locust around out into the open. Enemy teams Lrm Support mechs are having a blast because of this. I AM getting really really pissed off lol.
SO WITH 5 of us left against 12 I yell into the comms to push F5. Push Push Push. THERE IS COVER IN F5. We take out 2 enemy mechs on the way to F5.
Meanwhile one of the leader guys is pissed off that I interrupted his command and made a call that he didn't approve of. SO he starts the crap talking in comms. Meanwhile I'm trying to figure out who has a freaking narc in what's left of our broken Lance. If we could narc the Archer and Catapult we might stand a chance since the Lrms were killing us.
BUT MR Command GIJO says "Don't listen to him he isn't in charge"
HE then says " everyone follow me"
And in idk about 15 seconds everyone was dead.

Potato drop commanders, love ignoring them.

There are only a few QP DC's I will listen to, Panzermagiere being the best. The others are competent players that know how to DC and you can tell by their first call if they know what they are doing.

If they make a bad call straight away I just mute them and play my own game.

Twelve potatoes on the team
One potatoe wanders off
Eleven potatoes on the team

Eleven potatoes on the team
One potatoe stands in the open
Ten potatoes on the team

Ten potatoes on the team
One potatoe chases locust
Nine potatoes on the team

...

You get the idea.

I'm noticing a distinct increase of blind and/or deaf players. I tell them them where the enemy is and they don't react, They see them on the mini map and they still refuse to divert course.

That's PUGlife. Solo queue is "controlled anarchy".

On the plus side, there is a 50% chance the other team will do the same thing your team did when you play your next match.

While I can understand the sentiment, often seeing an entire team milling about with no one saying a word, seems to have the same result. I say if someone wants to attempt to lead a group, and fails it is better than if we all go our own way.

I have been calling matches more often in PUG and finding that my inclinations are often right and we win those matches. Sometimes I make bad calls and we loose or some on the team decide to do their own thing and we loose.

If you are in a PUG drop and someone attempting to command gives dumb orders, rather than ignoring it you could instead suggest an alternative better plan instead.

I can beat it.

Had a drop on Grim plexus domination.

I am piloting a Marauder IIC in charlie lance with the teams slowpokes I opt to maintain lance formation.

The enemy team gets a mech on the control point in very short order (locust most likely) and starts to get some serious time shaved off.

30 seconds
40 seconds
50 seconds

I see my team's Locust pirates bane run in front of me....I'm wondering why is this very fast light mech waay the heck in the rear next to charlie lance...

2 seconds left on clock...one of my team mates gets on the objective and I say over comms everyone who can rush onto the point the enemy will counter push with 2 seconds to go on the objective timer.

They did push our guys didn't or couldn't in time...first time I ever saw domination lost without firing a shot.

There's two types of ignorance.. willful and actual.

It's kinda like that old saying.. the one where you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink it? Well, being aware of what's going on is something you either want to do or don't.

That's why the solo queue is pretty awful. People that do want to listen are more likely to be the victors.
