Or is this " I played it in MW3, I want it here. Not because I'll actually use it, but because I have money I can throw at people."?

The two things I can think of are using missiles (albeit not very many) and perhaps being a little harder to disarm (all weapons are in torsos). I don't think either trait would be very useful, though.

The whole point of people wanting slugs is because slugs would be completely superior to clusters unless a miracle buff happened (which is unlikely).
I should have phrase that reply better: I would carry both kinds of ammo (solid and cluster) and switch between them depending on the situation.
But of course, it's your personal right to never use cluster ammo, as you said.

Can the Rifleman in MWO be engined to do 81 kph without speed tweak? The Champion can. It's as fast as a Dragon.
That's. That's technically a valid response.Like saying a Ferret's massive engine is a huge advantage, but sure, technically valid.
Then what? What is it going to do when running that speed, when it has more obvious side torsos than said Dragon?

In MWO, the slugs would be better than the clusters in all situations, even crit-seeking. Slugs would instantly destroy an internal component when they get a crit, while clusters spread their damage evenly across all items in that section. Slugs could also just outright destroy the entire body section, which has the side-effect of critting out every item there.
Clusters just need a big buff. I'd favor the brawler approach of making the pellets stronger (e.g. 1.4-1.5 damage per pellet), or something like massively ramping up the critical hit damage could work.

A valid response, sure, but there are plenty of fast 60 tonners & heavies in general.
The Champion would suck very badly in MWO. Obvious STs alone mean it'd need strong quirks to keep it above water.

This is wrong, how ?
This game long ago lost any reason game wise to have new mechs, there is only nostalgia and because it looks good left.
While it's not close to being on my wish list I'd certainly consider buying it after I see the rest of the unseen, mechs that also bring nothing to M.W.O play wise.

+++
Buff dmg per pellet to 1.5 just for a week und watch over it against the counterpart, specially the ultra acs.

I was hoping this thread was going to die, but some of us here are actually fighting for good mechs we plan on using, so since you really don't care to use it, you can go to the end of the line behind those of us waiting for mechs they want to use.
Thanks!

Meh. To each their own. Can't say I'm surprised that I forgot that one existed.

It could work reasonably well in MWO, I think.

It's not very high on my list, but I would be ok with it.

They could try to balance the slug shot by giving it fewer shots per ton and/or slower rate of fire and projectile speed.
All this is academic anyway because alternate firemodes are beyond PGI's abilities.

So that's a " I'll buy it because I have money and some small inkling of ' Hey I recognize that, cool; don't care about what it's good for' "?

What?
I'm honestly confused. Are you in favor of the champion or not? You make mention of good mechs; but then proceed to defend personal taste rather strongly over performance.
