I'm looking for a Urbie R60 build to finish basicing them.

Two large pulse lasers is probably the best build on this variant. Play safely, stay on the flank of your pack and poke the enemy to death.
For a more close range build, large pulse, medium pulse and 4 machine guns might work.

STD180, 2 MPL and 4 MG's is common. Switching to an XL engine you can run bigger lasers, but I always condone going the auto cannon route, and the R60 has better structure quirks for STD builds: [smurfy]http://mwo.smurfy-ne...916e9a6be80e238[/smurfy] if you can rock this little guy, you have earned the right to call yourself a Mechwarrior!

UM-R60

That's a fun one that I occasionally bring into CW:

2LL, 4MGs. The MGs can be pretty effective at tearing off damaged parts and EVERYONE ignores the Urbie.

I run 2 LL/2 ERLL, with a standard engine. The Urbie takes to much damage to really go with an XL... Though with nothing in the right side it makes a functional shield with a standard. If you run it with the ERLL you can use it as a functional sniper, acting as a support mech.

On the opposite, I find the hitbox really good for spreading damage, and quite XL friendly.

Then you are playing a different Urbie then me. I'm lucky if I don't lose a torso on any encounter with a single enemy mech I have. With a side torso having a max of 28 armor a ACH, FS, or Jenner IS/IIC can typically strip you instantly, let alone bigger mechs. With the largest engine you can use, your also just slightly faster than a Timbie which makes running from any clan mech other than a DWF nearly impossible.

That isn't to say I don't have good games in them though... But It's no tank and needs the enemy to focus on your allies and not you to do well.

I use the second build (except with ams and a smaller engine) and it's worked out well enough

There are many ways to build an Urbie, but only a big AC will put hair on your chest. The high mount, PPFLD snap-shooting ability, and 20-per-ton ammo count for AC10 makes this better than it looks. If you can use an AC20 Raven, you can use an AC10 Urbie. It's so much less boring than lasers. You *might* want to pick up a duplicate chassis to do this, though (it's cheap, since you don't need DHS).

UAC5 is also a decent option. While Urbies don't get any jam chance reductions, their small profile makes it easy to hide and recover if/when the gun jams. When it doesn't, you reap the benefits of way higher DPS. Since Urbie is a risk/reward kind of chassis to begin with, it is often worth the dice roll.

I use XL170s in most of my Urbies because I find that the extra half ton is more useful to me than the 5.8kph boost from going up to max engine.

2 er LL 4 machine guns max armor and as many heatsinks as you can make fit with a 170 xl engine.
Working on my mastery with my urbies now.

2nding the UAC5 and 2 Medium Lasers.
Personally I go without the XL but if you prefer speed over terrain use the XL.
