word of blake was a non-nonsensical attempt to revive the franchise, which instead killed it. no thanks

Dark Age tried to kill it. I liked the story line for the most part.

I only plan to play this game for a couple of years at max. Not decades sorry. The Jihad will be fought without me :)

Devlin Stone and Precentor Apollyon are both on Facebook. So this game will continue until 3090+. I think i will support the Blakists, just because i hate Devlin and his followers.

always annoys me; new technical readout.... wow that looks cool; ooh wait it belongs to the wobbie ********. On the upside if you kill enough of them maybe you'll get some of their tech.

Oh wait, if I use this amazing tech, some stupid Successor State will kill me because I used this incredible WoB stuff.

Personally I liked the Jihad storyline. The way the splat books were written was cool.

Blakist to the core, here. I have loved them since well before they were the Word, back as the old school villian-behind-the-scenes Comstar. While I do recognize a lot of hate from folks about that whole "Jihad" thing, it really is not much different from the early Succession wars, and much of the pre-Star League era of fighting. (I also agree, the death of the Dragoons was a much needed and deserved thing)

It also took the Word of Blake to accomplish the one thing the entire rest of the Inner Sphere failed to do - make Victor and the Super Friends cease to be a factor. While admittedly some of the outward "logic" may have appeared corny or ridiculous, reading deeper into it, and much of the later Jihad era fluff, one can see that even the most overwhelming of reactions can have some kind of method to the madness, not to mention many (intentional) misinterpretations. After all, how long did it take for the truth to get out that Tharkad was NOT nuked on Day 1, but was the fault of a bunch of reactor techs who failed to properly maintain their power plant? And just how much of the escalation was centered around that event being taken as the Word dropping tac-nukes directly on the capital?

Besides, every house has to thank the Word for helping create a new generation of heroes and overall strengthening the Inner Sphere in the aftermath of the Jihad. Without the Word of Blake, we wouldn't have the One True Cult of Thomas Hogarth - He Who Bringeth The Tonnage Forth.

I can't relate to this logic that justifies death and destruction for the sakes of "the greater good". WoB were intolerant, fanatical zealots period. The stupidity, warmongering, hypocrisy, and thirst for power of many of the Houses doesn't justify what the WoB did-ironically becoming the most criminal and crazy faction that could ever exist (no offense to WoB fans, it is alright to like them in the fiction for whatever reasons, but I hate their concept even more than all the hipocrisy of the many other factions.)

Glad they were finished, but who knows what they will do with the lore in the future with all of those units that disappeared/are not accounted for.
