For quite a few months now I've been running a small unit of a few of my friends, but I've been having trouble recruiting more people to the group. I've also found most of the people that get recruited end up not getting on to the game ever, in some cases not even once.

I've mostly been dreaming of getting at least a full 12 man together at some point so that the team can play in CW drops with organized, complimenting builds and plans so we can have some fun and a better chance of winning than if we are just dropping with randoms in a two or three man group.

Does anyone have any tips for recruiting players to a unit who are active and would like to played in an organized yet still fun way?

the 2 most effective ways I have seen are:

1) name of unit and a link to a recruitment page or website in all chat. (note this can be taken badly by sore losers)

2) contact the organizers of one of the public TS channels such as NGNG or ComstarNA or a faction TS and get yourself a channel or just drop regularly on one of these. Have your nickname reflect a unit tag (Ie [ARMD] Slide). Leave it open and invite untagged (in TS) players to play with you. This is absolutely the best way to get new people who are already interested in MWO. We noticed a significant drop in recruitment when we moved primarily from the NGNG TS to a private server.

others:
3) flash recruitment page on MWO, reddit etc
4) directly friend people in game and then contact them through the game client.
