eh, it's all good. Clean biopsy, no other cancers found, so aside from (yet another) scar to my collection.... *shrug* (Starting to think I should claim the RHCP song "Scar Tissue" as my personal theme.... but for now will stick with the Who's "Behind Blue Eyes".... even though mine are brown)

Yeah it struck a nerve for me when Bishop said he had cancer because my mom had just been diagnosed a couple months before. It's heartwarming to know of two people that beat cancer though. (My mom had a clean mammogram last month)

Also fantastic! Posted Image All the best to your mum TA. Here's to both her her and Bishop staying well and free of that wretched stuff, and to the day that humanity finally stabs cancer in the face once and for all.

This might be the most clever "drink" in a add this mech thread ever, haha.

But being serious, thanks & I'll drink to that.

Not sure if you can arrange it, but I would love to see a white Nightstar of the ComGuards or the Word of Blake Militia, perhaps even Ultor with its UACs...
(Here are some insignia for ComGuard and WoBM divisons, which may spice up the image in addition to the faction logo)
(too bad no 1st Division of the WoBM......... yet...)

I'll ask around, there was only one person that added color to their rendition but they've been pretty busy. Here's hoping

At TheArisen's request, I have drawn up and am contributing my own take on the Nightstar.
Spoiler

After finishing the digital coloring/shading of my Night Gyr drawing I will update this with it's own finalized (fine tip marker) version and digitally colored/shaded version as well. It may be a week or two away though (college).

Thanks for taking this on, it looks great and I'll be excitedly waiting for the colored rendition. :)

Isn't it ironic? Earlier in this thread people complained about the Nightstar powercreep and how op it would be.

That was before the Kodiak. Ah, the nostalgia. Posted Image

Yeah I don't think it would be OP, just strong. Now it's one of the best choices to level the field with the Kodiak.

It is pretty funny, I remember when ppl were convinced the Mauler & KCrab were going to be hyper OP, etc.

You know FLG, I think your creation, Xaver Murr, is the only plausible hero. Simply because Brubaker & Sandoval's mechs haven't even been built yet.

Plus a WoB hero would have a good following, etc. Not to mention how cool it would be to have a fan created hero in game.

Well thank you!

I would not be happy with Sandoval or Brubaker for another reason: Sandoval (likely) used a stock Mech while Brubaker's Mech cannot be done with the tech available in MWO. Any Mech PGI makes for these two pilots would clash with the canon.

But to be honest, I do not think even the Nightstar would stand up to a Kodiak. The problem is the incredibly powerful combination of firepower, speed, and resilience granted by the C-XL cannot be reached by an IS assault Mech. However, if properly quirked the Nightstar could outperform the Kodiak in long range combat thanks to the torso shape.

Indeed, it's best to go with the hero that actually allows for unique builds without messing up lore ones, even though Sandoval's could be used technically because it's not stated specifically, I think.

The only variant I could see matching up to the Kodiak is the FC due to it's ability to mount up to a 400 rated engine, it comes with a 375 stock. With a 400 it would run at 73.3kph. Yeah it doesn't get clan tech but with some minor structure quirks it could be fairly comparable. The NSR doesn't come with endo stock so that gives it some more room.

More evidence of the legitimacy of the Nightstar being available in 3050.

Doesn't fit the battletech theme. It's too.. smooth. Battletech robots seem to me to be more edge... more grunge.

To be fair it's just art of the mech itself. If it had battle damage I'm sure it'd capture that grunge feel. It's based off the mini & less designed for MWO.

If the Nightstar made it into the game I'm sure Alex would do wonders with a MWO themed version. I love this one though, it's just so well done.

Well they've been announcing & releasing mechs. The next announcement will be IS or maybe that's from the Bushwhacker.
