Its not gonna do anything better then any mech we already have though IMO. Aside from the fact its a 75 tonner with Missiles and Lasers, but it wont be better then the Blk Knight which is already the Timby killer.

I'm not normally for knock-off mechs, but there is a coolness (if not some desperation too) in the creation of the Rakshasa. Besides, it basically gives a Catapult arms, that is never a bad idea :D

I'm going to laugh so hard if the mech reviled on the 20th is going to be the Rakshasa....

I mean one could say the art done by Alex could be considered concept art....

All the assets are there...kinda :D

Throw in a Catapult torso and missile pods (minus doors), Vindicator arms (right arm mirrored for left arm as well), and a Marauder legs and you are pretty much all set.

It's go time!

Seems redundant. The Marauder already has missiles so in order out do it you would need 4m + 5e. That is quite a few hardpoints. That and it lacks timeline appropriate variants.

According to the sarna page cited ... the mech is 3055 and so is currently outside the MWO time frame ... so it seems unlikely to be the next reviled ( :-) ) mech.

Oh, it seems like we have been at that point with mech releases for a looong time :D.

Its down to pick what mech you like to accomplish x goal. So that said, I wouldn't let redundancy halt anything.

nope.

Have you seen what happens on these boards when a new mech is released? As it stands the Rakshasa and I have a love - hate relationship, I love to hate them even since a campaign a few years back, where the guy running it had us beset by those things, and they murdered half the player merc unit... It was our fault, we didn't catch the clues as to what they were at the time.

There must be some error. The title should be Mad Cat Wannabe, and not Mad Cat Equivalent.

and I hope that it does not make it to the game. We have plenty of more interesting mechs to choose from than a "copycat"

I'm down for paying for this. Even if it keeps it's current hardpoints. Nothing wrong with more mechs. Ever.

Being the 95% of people do not run mechs in any form that resembles their stock loadout how would this really provide us with anything different from the Marauder?

Marauder 5D can use an identical loadout. with a slightly smaller engine 360xl instead of a 375xl

A better equivalent would be a marauder and a catapult. That'd be about the same level of firepower as a stock timbie.

It's neat, but the oldest model is still in 3055 and to get 3 different variants you have to jump to 3064 unless PGI made their own.
