But a temporary 10% xp boost is not enough for me to justify spending the money..

Sure, it's temporary, but it's only $10 for 7+ months of boost.

I don't even play all that much, and that'll probably end up being at least 100k bonus xps for me. $10 seems pretty reasonable to me for 100k xps.

Well its only 3 inches tall. Not a very flattering introduction to the game for the mighty Overlord dropship I agree. Yep it is a wasted opportunity. Well when its on the field it should be a lot more impressive.

Pretty sure it's a Faberge egg. Filled with candy.

I'm constantly leveling up new mechs...$10 for half a year or whatever of 10% XP boost is worth it to me. $10 is around one drink out in a bigger city or a decent meal if you're not eating garbage/care about what you put in your body.

Just for kicks I just checked my Black Widow. I bought it on 3/25 and other than a few games in Archers to finish leveling them up, and a few games in Marauders during this past weekend's event, it's been the only Mech I've been playing since I got it.

It's now 4/13, so not even 20 days yet. I have 98 games in it for a total of 181k xps on just that one Mech, and I basically only play on weekends. Granted... ~30 games per weekend... but still.

$10 for a 7-month long 10% bonus? Yes please!

Stopped funding MWO when the tournament was announced. Rather see the money go elsewhere.

Nah, think I'm done supporting PGI. I think MWO may have peaked already, and I missed it, and now I'm just waiting to see if they're ever going to do anything interesting with it, or just keep making big promises, little changes, and more and more mechs with no other real content.

Ok, a tourney. Most games have sponsors for those, that are not the playerbase. Know why? More people want to play them or watch them be played. There's money to be made by sponsors, so they put up the purses. Me, I actually sometimes enjoy watching other people play MWO, but I wouldn't put money towards it. I don't think a whole lot of people or sponsors would at this point.

Seems bitter, but I type all of this with no anger or resentment, just a realization that I've always expected way more out of PGI and MWO than was ever going to be there. It is what it is, and what it is, is no longer worth a dime to me, personally. Spent what I've spent, can never have it back, and learned from the experience.

yeah...just not interested in that; most of my mechs are already mastered...and the ones that aren't, I really have no interest in playing. About the only thing it'd be useful for (for me personally) would be new mechs...but 10% boost seems kinda small even for that. The boost would probably only shave off a day or so from the time required to master them, if that.

Honestly, I'd rather have a special "tournament" variant of a mech with a special skin (kinda like the loyalty mechs).

If it came with a choice of participating unit logos as badges that would be displayed on the forum I probably would. Might even buy more than one. *Winks at PGI*

No. Neither financially or otherwise.

"May" have supported it IF they actually bothered to build the tools for running tourney events sometime between the announcement (or before) and the actual start of the event, or possibly even just given them the benefit of the doubt if they had bothered actually developing the game any time in the last 3 years - neither has happened so I can't realistically find any reason to support the blunder that this will become.

Lol. You won't fund PGI because you want to money to go elsewhere within PGI, as if they have a "tournament department" that keeps it all for themselves if you buy a supporter pack.

I have exactly 100 cockpit hanging items that I don't use, and probably that many standing items that I don't use. I also have >200,000 spare GXP that I don't use.

So there is nothing in that bundle that I would even use.

I'll wait and see whether PGI offers any other kind of tournament support items that might actually be useful and interesting. Perhaps tournament edition Mech variants or something.

Originally, I thought it was $5 and it went 100% to the tournament. I saw it as a kind of good will thing, because the money would benefit the players directly and PGI indirectly by making the prize pool bigger and create more buzz around the tournament. And I was hoping to see some kind of official counter showing the money raised, since we have absolutely no way of knowing whether the money is actually used as advertised.

However, with 50% going to PGI and no official counter, it's not as enticing. I don't need the XP, almost all my mechs are mastered at any given time. And $10 is half a new mech pack, so... meh.

Yeah sure, I'll support it. Im supporting MWO, sure its ups and downs but since I started playing there been an overall slooow but steady improvement, year by year.

Though. While its nice to see some tournaments and competition around MWO, it better not stray of course. Solaris free for all, proper FW and PVE are imo just as needed priorities.

yes, actually it IS a Faberge egg, not one of the 'impreial' ones, this particular one was a "lost' one, and was found by accident in the usa on someones livingroom end table, from a picture of something else, this was in the corner of the pic, and an Englis phd saw the picture it was in and tracked it down, the owners had no f-n clue what they had.

P.S. the insides do NOT contain candy, but a time piece.(clock/watch)

nope, I no longer support any of MWO with real life money. I'll use their servers and spend c-bills, but that's it.
