What About A Tonnage Disparity Bonus?

As far as I can tell the only important thing is damage of any kind. Kills, scouting, tactical maneuvers (namely flanking and hit and run) and objectives (like capping in conquest) are not well rewarded.
The problem that bothers me about this is that damage is not the most important thing in this game, not even close. 500 damage spread across many targets is nowhere near as useful as planting 20-50 into the back of an assault and killing it but the one who does the 500 will be rewarded far better than the one who does the 50.
Mostly this is an issue with lights. I didnt really care about this until i bought my Locust-1V today and plopped one lonely ER large laser in it and went to go have some fun. I find im not dissatisfied with my performance. I average 150-300 damage but i almost always get a kill or one or two most damage assists and I am very happy with the effect my harrassment has on the enemy and Ive not once been instagibbed and often im the last one alive and sometimes the highest score on the team (makes me cringe a little for my team but still) What I am unhappy with is the abysmal rewards even if i kill far more than my weight because the damage is always low.
So my proposal is that we have a tonnage disparity bonus. If i kill a direwolf in my 20 ton locust that should mean a lot more than if I kill something like a centurion in a timberwolf. Maybe have it just be a multiplier on top of the damage and kill itself.
If i go and i take the time to scout out my approach, plan my route and approach and actually succeed at sneaking up behind and swiping a dire wolf (the one time i did this he was less than 20 feet from yet another direwolf and I soloed this sucker without the other direwolf noticing) I damn well want to be well rewarded.
The only problem i could see with this is that assaults would never have the bonus but I think they more than make up for that fact by bringing enough guns to rack up a thousand damage and slaughter many hordes of mechs, if they pull that off I doubt they are hurting for rewards.

I personally want damage to result in less match score, but more XP. Of course, things like spotting, scouting, TAG/NARC bonus should also be boosted.

There is also the fact that if you are spewing damage like that you are likely to have a large amount of assists than if you have to take a painstaking amount of care planning any bit of exposure to get those kills.
I mostly mean this to make up for those underloved lights with less than overwhelming armament whose kills have a huge impact but arent rewarded very well because they have to work incredibly hard to get that one kill.
I dont really think i should have to go out of my way to hit as many targets as i can at least once to get enough assists to make a decent amount of money, thats a waste of my potential as a light. Far better to focus on taking a mech much larger and more potent than me out. So why not reward it?

But shouldn't the tonnage disparity kick in every time? What about Gargoyle - TimberWolf
Considering Kills - well there is only one Kill and Solo is it name - solo kill or it didn't happen

It would be balanced by the fact that as you go up in tonnage mechs become far more capable of dishing out damage and securing the necessary kills and assists to make sufficient income. Assaults dont really need the bonus but it would still kick in for a lighter assault like a gargoyle killing a heavier assault like an atlas.
The multiplier for such similar tonnage would be small but the multiplier for a huge disparity like my locust VS direwolf example would be much larger. It might give a reason for people to play the less used lights and mediums. Im all for anything that brings more variation in mech types we see.

Admiral Ackbar could have helped you here

Gargoyle may have more weight but its not more powerful - heck even my Stormcrow is as capable as my Gargoyle in dishing out damage.

There are good and bad mechs in all weight brackets and classes and the gargoyle just happens to be a very sad assault lol and the stormcrow happens to be a very good medium but in most cases heavies and assaults if played well dont have too much issue racking up kills and damage compared to their much lighter cousins and if you kill an atlas in a stormcrow then u deserve a healthy paycheck. lol.

in general you can reduce all those discussion to the bottom line : "Payment sucks"
I didn't have driven a light for years... last time i did i have to pay for its repair, that was the only reason to drive a light.
So you can also add a "factor" that normalize the damage based on the tonnage or any other value.
For example - the damage modifer may be a 5 for a LCT-1V (means for every 5dmg dealt you don't get 100-Cbill but 500)
so a Atlas may get a 0.5 or a TimberWOlf a 0.2 modifer - while a Gargoyle could still have a 1.2 or similar.
So a payment based on MechTiers.

I'd buy a jenner instantly for c-bill showers if something like this would make it into the game.

You should be rewarded for removing a "superior" mech from the battlefield not just haphazardly spewing damage. It incentivizes risktaking and rewards skillful play.

And not all assaults are going to just let you easily get behind them. Many of them stick in groups with their heavies and many lighter mechs escort or protect them. And i still say if you kill them in ur jenner you still deserve your paycheck. Im not sure if you play lights but they are hardly easy to play. Even with that huge alpha you still have to plan everything, scout it out make sure he doesnt have buddies plan ur entry and escape etc. Its a lot more involved that you might think.
