Just a quick question here...

Why do peeps think the Shadowhawk is less survivable vs. the Hunchie? The SH's vertical move ability makes me grin. Hunchie goes 'ouch' and dies....

Overall health. After quirks you get significantly more from the Hunchback.

Hitboxes. Equalsize front/rear on an SHK means 12 or more rear armor is optimal while a hunch can get away with 2 rear on its right side, get surrounded and still have some right rear armor after getting 4 kills and then running at 72 kph (personal experience).

The size difference of a tiny Hunchback compared to the tallest 55..60..65...almost tallest 70 tonner, taller than 80 tonners. (What I am saying is the SHK is THAT tall.)

Twist ability, SHK has the most limited twist radius while hbk sports a twist radius so good you can shoot behind you.

No vertical blindspot on an hbk, Shadowhawks can have someone stand right in front and Mechs under 11 meters cannot be seen or even aimed at with torso weaponry.

Also if you want vertical ability in a 55 tonner, the Shadowhawk's has the worst performance for 3 JJ, and any other jj-equipped 55 ton mech gets a limit of 7.

Don't get me wrong, Shadowhawks are pretty good in anyone's hands, but they are average. It doesn't excel at anything and it doesnt have much room to improve. It simply is.

Shadowhawks wouldn't take the abuse Hunch does against this Jagermech. Keep in mind this is without quirks and 2 right rear and some 16 left rear armor and I literally give this guy my back as a defense.

Thanks Koniving! I was wondering...and I've seen the torso twist now that I went ahead and bought the Griff mastery too (don't tell the g/f!).

Now you've got me wanting to buy some Hunchies...grr... Posted Image

Hunchies are pretty good. Honestly surprised they got so overquirked but won't complain, so long as the 42-46 front right armor and 6-2 right rear armor is followed this thing is a tank either way. The 16 rear left was because the ammo drum was a weird weakspot with rear armor on the front but that problem has been fixed and isnt necessary anymore.

A Hunchback does have a very large right torso but after quirks it has more health than the typical layout of an shk's C.t. despite being physically approx. the same size.

Not to mention the best way to deal with a 55 tonner is to leg it then shred it's side torso since almost every 55 tonner short some kintaros, Griffin's and the occasional wolverine (which may have STD engines).

An hbk is incredibly likely to have a standard engine and low starting cost because it is limited to a max engine of 275. Honestly short of my DPS build I don't go above 250 on mine and am plenty content with a 200 stock engine after speedtweak. Then again I find lower speeds to significantly improve both my aim and the hitreg.

I love Griffin too. When you want a jumpy mech, well... This says it all. I do apologize for the frequency of Lrm alarms, I put them in each time I'm about to be hit by them but it tells you how frequent that spam can be.

That's recorded during nerfed jjs. They got unneeded since. :P
