The Cyclops is an Archer Torso with Warhammer/Rifleman legs and a brand-new head and brand-new arms.
It would seem that PGI is playing Lego 'Mechs with the fundamental geometry on Inner Sphere machines, now. This is no longer an OmniMech phenomenon.
...You know, we make jokes about Lego Mechs often but... why HASN'T anyone made a Lego Set for Battletech yet? Not only would it sell well, with proper advertisement, but it'd introduce a new generation to the Battletech universe.

Besides, I never liked the Cyclops since MW2, so there is no nostalgic value to me.

Actual Lego 'Mechs would be terrific, especially if they are based on PGI models.
However, my beef here is that the Cyclops is going to come out in August despite roughly 50% of its geometry being re-used from existing 'Mechs. So...what we have is a release cycle that's been stretched out to unnatural lengths. Why do I care? Because the longer it takes for them to release these four 'Mechs I have zero interest in, the longer it takes for them to get around to 'Mechs I am interested in.
AKA, it's going to cost PGI my business.

You can find user-made designs out there if you want them for yourself/children. I think Lego will even do a custom ship of just the pieces you need for your mech.

1. Reveal all enemy mechs within X (300?) meters of the Cyclops. Great on short-range brawl maps.
2. Counter all (or at least one or more) hostile ECM's within X (500?) meters of the cyclops
3. Allow the cyclops to target mechs at extreme range provided they are LOS. Of course, a really big extension of targeting range would achieve this as well.
Perhaps these exact numbers are overpowered, but something along these lines at any rate.If only the Cyclops can do this, any of these options would make it a good mech to add to a team. But the team would have to stick with the cyclops and protect it in order to keep that benefit. Of course there should eventally be a clan counterpart that can do this as well. Might be a nice job for the Gargoyle.

This is homebrew but that's a damn incredible Timber.
You can do lego mechs, in fact lego has an official "app" to design whatever you want and then buy all the pieces you used on that design:
http://ldd.lego.com/en-us/
[EDIT] It seems Lego discontinued the possibility of ordering components from the designer. You can buy individual components though from their page here: http://shop.lego.com...e#suppressXlink
You can find "blueprints" for mechs on sites like brickcommander. Not MWO designs, but still.
Some lego mechs out there:
