As much crud as I have given PGI over the years about Conquest, I have to take a second to tell them what a good job they did on the new modes.
Domination is Great and makes sense.It makes me feel as there is an actual objective.
Scouting mode is just Awesome!!! I love it. It is my new favorite mode.

Keep it up PGI ....Well done.

You mean that game mode that basically says "Okay, everybody deathball to this particular spot" instead of "everybody deathball to wherever you want"? Yeah, cool game mode.

I agree with OP...
Domination is my new Fav mode.
Feels like a real objective... a goal... A Quest even ;-)

Not to mention the game mode where on some maps the enemy has an absurd advantage due to spawning within spitting distance of said objective while the other team has to trek across half the damn map to reach it.

Yeah, really well thought out that mode was.

Domination is basically skirmish without the strategy.

Just go to wherever the map tells you to go, stand in the big green circle, and shoot anything with a red Dorito.

aint nothing wrong with a lil king of the hill Posted Image . Only problem i have with it is that destroying the bases doesnt allow you to go past the 1 minute mark. Also would have been an excellent time to introduce npc tanks and infantry guarding the mobile bases. One can dream right?

Domination would be better if the domination point randomly shifted around each game. It would at least be different.

But skirmish is already without strategy. Just aimlessly deathball into the center of the map and hope the enemy decided to split up.

Well getting paired up with randoms is hard to form a strategy, so the group strategy is to well... group up and push which im fine with since i like to be close to everyone makes me feel safe Posted Image . Also there is no deathball just the team grouping otherwise it would be impossible for everyone to get shots off in a deathball.

What i like about Domination is that it's (almost) fool proof: teams suddenly learn that grouping up is a solid strategy instead of running all over the place.
We just had to place a HUGE green circle on the map and make the mission objective to "go there" to make people actually go there...

We always deathballed at the exact same spot anyway... Domination just supplies an incentive to get into harms way.

PGI have improved alot, still some ways to go.
But shhs..., too much positivity can lead the trolls and salty vets to this thread. They cant stand that PGI gets credit for what they improve. Even if the ordinary ones that gives PGI aplause, also have constructive critic too.

Pub/group queue has not strategy really other than deathball, it's all glorified c-bill farming. If you want strategy, go join a league. Map strategy, team mech compositions, where/when to fight, role warfare, fallback plan, fallback of the fallback plan, it all shows up in the private lobby matchs of comp play.

That's the only reason it's the second most popular mode. If given a choice, 80% to 90% of the players would choose Skirmish all day every day.

Rather like Domination and the new Scouting for FW myself.. and to those who say all Domination is is a "Massive Deathball to the middle" has clearly been unlucky with PUGs.

Actually I've been seeing a lot of matches in Domination where only a few scouts rush, to start capping and mark targets, while the rest of the team either Flanks, Snipes or LRM's the other team.

As for Scouting, its generally fun unless you get people who just take 4 Oxides and then just roll your team, of course it helps if your team isn't spread out. But overall I like the Scouting, was a nice addition and a good change of pace from the 12 mans.

I like domination.

I hate that most of the maps are horribly balanced in domination, to the point that I'm already seeing people DC when they spawn on the "bad" side of some maps.

Which sadly explains why 3 years in we still only have TDM (with a twist!). It's what the current player base wants and frankly almost all the people who wanted more are gone now.
