Just give me a Quick Play option that effects the IS map and Awards LPs. All I ever wanted.

Intergalactic war will never be really interesting because :

There's no supply

There's no supply lines

There's no morale

There's no permanent casualties

All of this prevent the game from being a real strategy game. Which is normal, if you consider that Battletech TT is a tactical game. Even Battleforce isn't a grand strategy game, it only cover one planet invasion. There was never a galactic strategy game in the Battletech universe. Galactic strategy was done through novels and lore books.

Great ideas!

Getting FW to be a viable game mode is the first fundamental step.

These things can be introduced once the game mode is stable.

Nothing is ever going to improve when it comes to FW. In my opinion the playerbase should just boycott it altogether. Send PGI a message they can't ignore.

Heck aren't we already kinda going that be default? If only 10% play nominally (I believe Russ quote was actually "less than 10%) then how much lower will a boycott get it? Keep in mind also that the 10% quote was before P3. As far as I can tell by actual games, it seems like we are WAY below that number already.

Boycott...we don't need no stinking boycott. The game has already driven folks away with out one it would seem. I'd say something like "your move PGI", but I don't think they care at this point.
Would any of you fine folks be interested in a new mechpack?

Not everyone wants to play Clan v IS all the time

Not everyone cares about the FACTION PLAY part of this game

Not everyone is here for the Lore

This would run off a lot of player IMO, but i could be wrong.

48v48 i dont think is possible at all.

We already only have one attack planet per border so i dont see what this changes at all.

You talk about lore like it's a bad thing. I mean, you have the DCMS icon all over your sig and profile. Apart from it's lore based foundation in Btech, dragons don't exist. Dragons are lore broskee.

I made a reply to another thread along similar lines. I can't see that QP needs to be a thing any more. Just have all games and modes affect FW in some way. Keep the variety but reduce the splitting of queues. New players will learn about the FW side if they like the shooty bit and even if they din't its still bodies/customers. Seen a lot of people express a similar view to mine, that match quality is much better in FW with the split in queues. That's a huge gain. I think its premature to lose that by merging queues when other steps could be taken.

If done well, integrating all gameplay in a way that it affects FW through factions would make the games more significant. Doesn't need to be complicated either, for example:
  • QP 12v12: if player is aligned with a faction, he is set up on the currently selected battlefield for his faction with appropriate opponent in queue. The results of the match affect Invasions as if it was a skirmish, perhaps giving some bonus or penalty to the current invasion effort (in a different way and less dramatic way than Scouting does). New players are Freelancers to get them started and thus can be added to either side to fill "holes" depending on mechs they want to play with.
  • Scouting: Same as current.
  • Invasion: same as current.
I do agree that given the population density, having an IS vs Clan stance on invation queues would work best, perhaps limiting conflicts to a handful of planets each ceasefire (say 4) using a voting system. Territories can still be assigned to specific factions depending on involvement in the conflict and success rating / bragging rights similar to how it is now. It would only mean that if Clan attacks an IS planet (for example), all Clan can join in the fight, and if say Smoke Jaguar dominates during that fight, they win the planet for themselves and territory is added to their own etc....

It is a shame when PGI's fixes do more harm than good to a game mode. Fewer and fewer people play after each new and wonderful update by PGI. CW2 and FW3 both caused more people to quit playing the game mode. Then Russ comes on and says that no one wants to play it.

How about you do what you promised, Russ? Stop making power point presentations and give us the real deal, the game you promised everyone 4 years ago.

He is falling back on the deflection of blame. He doesn't want our opinions, they'll do what they want, but it's our fault we aren't playing in the numbers he wants, because of reasons, those reasons being us.

Our fault.

He's sounding like a gf that should be an X GF as soon as possible.

Everyone should send these two email addresses the link to this thread. If we spam their inboxes with ideas, they will have to listen.
