This one has been a long time, more than a year at least, but it is my most memorable:

Simply put, I was piloting a freshly bought Cataphract Ilya Muromets (first thing I ever bought in MWO) having been told it had a simple and fun weapons mechanic (if not terribly meta). While playing (old) Frozen City, I noted that nearly all my team was committed to circling the long way around the map, so I (the newbie) opted to do right by my team and cut across the mountain/glacier range as an early warning system.

Just as I anticipated a 'mech would round the corner (outgoing missile volleys were starting), I pre-emptively alpha'd my 3x AC10's thinking I could scare what might be coming around the corner to back off a few seconds. I fired, trying to torso twist like the guys in my previous match had recommended I practice (so I didn't see the result), and 'lo and behold the HEADSHOT achievement award popped up along with an audio kill confirmation. I had nailed a Highlander. Right in the glass as it was charging around the corner. I presume the player had reduced the head armor and buffed up an arm or something. I was floored. I didn't even know headshots were a thing that could be had.

I died seconds later when The Dying Highlander of Misfortune was followed by The Undying Boar's Head of Unspeakable Terror alpha'ing me in the everything. Still though, that was one of the best moments in MWO for me, and it cemented a special place in my heart for my little CTF-IM 'Assault Barn' - The Housing Project That Slays Dragons When Not Looking.

(IIRC, the Highlander pilot was flabberghasted but when he saw how quickly I went down, and thus knew I didn't cheat or anything, he was cool about it).

No video (I wish)...

I was in my favorite Locust (Mr. Ouchy)....we were playing Assault on Crimson Straight. I come hauling down the street towards enemy base...Oh WOW....no one here!!
Run right past a King Crab just as hear the ''ba-blip' New Contact Acquired"....he was a dual AC20....<BOOM>
He one shotted me before I could even turn...

Since I was one of only 2 of our team left there was a great gnashing of teeth on the battlecoms (laughter I mean)...

got my third only intentional head shot ( on a mech that had a pilot and was not shut down) the other night.

I was solo pugging in my twin large pulse ShadowCat on mining collective.

Of course I was jumping from roof top to roof top and taking pot shots when I could.

A lone Executioner pushes up on the middle platform (where Theta would be located).

He is about 500m away from me, and just facing a few degrees off my center.

He is perfectly fresh; the match has not been running for that long.

He clearly did not notice me. As a matter of fact, he has come to a dead stop so he can fire lurms (I know).

I could not immediately take the shot, as I was already running very hot, so I backed down and waited a couple seconds.

I inch my way out of cover to take the shot and he HAS NOT MOVED AT ALL. So of course, I take aim for the center of his face and fire. Boom, no more Executioner.

And wouldn't you know it? I got the salt treatment for the rest of the match. Accused of hacking and aimbots..

Now there is a video floating around TBRNs channel of a training match where I was playing with them during our handshake that led to an alliance. Back to back headshots with dual guass Warhammer. Someone said OMG HAX. I didn't even know they were headshots. Wish the counted, but it was an private lobby. I would have been up to 6 recorded.

Best remembered after that was a King Crab on River Skirmish and I was in a Cataphract with 2SRM6s, 2MLas and an AC20. I ran up the hill, facehugged and pushed that "F" button. All to the CT and one side. Ammo explosion on through-crit-chance. I died immediately after, but my team was screwing around shooting each other and other Tier5 stuff, so I gave up anyway.

best one shot kill (lucky shot) :

dual gauss jager, old frozen city. first minute...we barely were 500 m from the ridge. a shadowhawk uses jj to peak over ..he goes too high and i have time to charge and lead the shot, bam..he dies in midair. i think he died under 1 minute.

First time, I don't remember what I was piloting, but it had 2 x ERLLAS. I was on the original Alpine where you had to walk for days to find the enemy. In a fairly open area, I see a lone Raven way out in front of his teammates walking straight at me. Being new to the game, I picked what appeared to be the "middle' of the Raven and fired. Dead Raven. The Raven pilot commented that that was a great shot. I thanked him, but said I had no idea what I did. Cockpit shot. Pure luck.

Much later, running a 6 x MLAS Jenner on Tourmaline. I sneak up on a lone 2 x Gauss Jager. I lined up on the rear right side torso. 1 apha, Jager go boom.

Shortly after getting my Ember, I was running 4 x MPLAS and 4 x mg. On Alpine. There were 3 enemy mechs on the edge of the plateau along H7-I8 shooting down into the valley: A Raven, a Jager, and a Cataphract (L to R). They were spread out a bit, so I decided to engage the Cataphract first to give me room to maneuver if I needed it. I crept up on the Cataphract and took aim on his right rear torso and fired. He stood up for a second, then started to turn to the right. Right about then the mg's bit deep and he died.

I looked to my left and neither the Jager of Raven had noticed me. I looped back, walked right up behind the Jager, right rear torso, alpha. He died instantly.

I looked to my left, and the Raven still hadn't seen me. You guessed it, position behind, right rear torso, alpha, BOOM!

3 (almost) 1-shot kills without taking any damage. And, no, they were not disconnected.

The moral of the story is to watch your 6.

I went to AC40 a fresh Cheeter in the face with my Jager, he flew up at the last second and It got him in the legs. Well both legs actually because he had no legs when he hit the ground. I guess the first AC20 hit the leg nearest to me, and the second hit the other one. It was beautiful.

There are two that I can recall off-hand. The first was a headshot on a Highlander when they first dropped. This was back when BoomJagers were a thing, so it was a Double 20 to the face. I didn't even realise it had happened at first, as I just centered on that hood and fired as he stepped around the corner. Of course, the usual BS occurred about Aimbots and the like, but it was literally just a fluke shot.

The other was a poor locust that got vaporised by my AS7-DC and it's Triple SRM 6 that I was running at the time. This was before Clan-Tech came out, and I'd been pumping salvo after salvo into a Jenner that wouldn't die. Gave up chasing that and turned to blast a heavy that had stepped out of Cover. And just as I fired, this poor Locust drops down from above, square in the flight path, and Boom, just a pair of Smoking Legs on the Paper Doll readout.

Oh. Last one I just remembered, was in a Dual Goose Jager (after charge up was added), and this Champion Spider silhouettes himself on the Caldera of Old Caustic, about 20 secs into the match. PHWUNK. No more Right Torso. GG-Spider, GG.

Complete accidental one-shot-kill on a fresh locust.

Two minutes into the match on Mining Collective, I'm out in a 2-ERPPC KFX all the way behind enemy lines (because who checks the side alleys anyway in an Assault match?). I spot a Nova on the far side of the map, lead the target juuuust right...and fire.

Boom. One kill. I was confused as hell because the name that popped up wasn't the same name that I had targeted.

Turns out there was an ECM Pirate's Bane trying to creep forward at me, and I completely didn't see it at all. Such is the nature of nightvision...

Pugging on Mining Colonies yesterday. It was either Domination or skirmish. I move onto the central platform with Gauss/ER PPC TBR-S. Enemy assaults are on the other side contemplating walking up the ramp.

I move off to one side to get some cover using the buildings. Enemy Kodiak starts walking up the ramp. I aim directly at the bear snout and fire. BOOM, he falls over flat.

Rest of enemy team thinks better of moving up on the platform and starts NASCARing. I eventually move to the corner the enemy team was at while they got onto the platform via the ramp where I first entered. I skirt the outer edges of the platform, using the buildings as concealment and seismic as a guide, and come upon a second KDK looking out from a gap between two buildings. I sneak up on him from the side, so close that had this not been a video game my pilot would have seen his pilot's eye balls. I put my crosshair directly on his cockpit, and fire just as he turns his torso to look at me.

BOOM, second Kodiak one shotted.

That was two Kodiaks down on their team from headshots. Both probably died because they had prior armor damage from air and arty strikes. One did not even get to do 100 damage.

There was also a Locust I snuck up on and one shotted from above that game, and another KDK whose head component I critted at round start before he was finished off by teammates. Needless to say they lost.

Those Timbers can be surprisingly sneaky when you get the TBR-S with three JJs. Even when mine was painted bright orange. Posted Image But usually sneakiness never pays off this much because my shots don't usually converge when I alpha. Last night however, either my connection to the server improved or I waited slightly longer to fire, but convergence was spot on and the weapon effects were devastating.

The other side were good sports though. Not a single hackusation was levied. Posted Image

Last night 3rd time I'd seen the Night Gyr, the match was in Mining Collective, I'm sneaking around in my 3xErPPC & 4xErSml Ebon Jag, just off the main force, trying to find a nice spot to flank from, throw some PPC fire about to disorient the enemy and then head back to the main group, or just to find a poor lone mech to pick on.

Coming up one ramp I notice this dome of a head about 500/600M away just poking over the level. I back up, it is not engaged at that time, could it be the missile version? I didn't get a target. Is it waiting for a target? It didn't notice me. It's not even fully face on. I creep up to a level that will allow me to fire all 3 PPCs (it's only 85% heat from cold). What I was aiming for was a hit of any kind, shake 'em up a bit... damage that large CT with a PPC alpha then spam. I line up my crosshairs... fire! Hit reverse quick! Ready to poke again. My warhorn goes off! Mech down!

I'm shocked, so shocked I even said over the comms "I think I just head shot that Night Gyr!" "I think so" came a reply from one of my team (can't remember who, sorry). The poor thing had only done something like 17 damage... I almost felt sorry for it... almost. Posted Image

I was so happy with my headshot I forgot to take a screenshot after the match...

Well, I one shotted somebody today: myself. According to a teammate it's even lore appropriate. The picture pretty much says it all Posted Image

What happened was that I was testing my weapons firing groups. Then I got up on a ridge and, without looking at my heat gauge, alphaed a Jager. Well, the Jager didn't die, but my pilot paid the ultimate price.

Posted Image

And.... it happened again, the very next game. Is there something about my build? I've never had this happen before....

Today... unfortunately someone on my own team. Not exactly how I wanted to see that play out.
<facepalm>

Was a brutal KDK-3 vs KDK-3 brawl on HPG... some light on my team decided to jump jet between us right as I let a 4X LB10X volley go.... right into the poor guys back.

Sorry dude.

(Yeah I ended up killing the other KDK-3 at least)

Had two epic stories and one sort of bleh.

First was my first head shot of the game that i did. was on forest colony. You old timers know the one, the last version. The 12 V 12 map before the redo. The version that everyone complained where you can hit one spawn from the other side of the map thing.
Anways, i headed out to the boat. of course, being the newbie at the time i was............... barely into the game a month, i ended up seeing a mech that was shooting at me from a slight bit of a distance while in my hunchie 4p trial. shot all my lasers, and i mean all of them at the person. didn't aim too paticularly well due to being new to the game but not franchise because i was still learning after getting back into it. The last mechwarrior game i had played was MW 3. Got a head shot. ended up getting rolled with my head shot being the only kill.

Second was one after i had being playing for months, in my hunchback 4p (c) mastered and all that, with all medium pulse lasers, on canyon.... in team que............ had this other hunchback playing peeaboo around the corner BS, and i could do he wasn't doing it particularly well from the way he was moving to and from cover. Set up a shot, so i could just headshot him and go the next time he showed his head. anyways i ended up popping his head off like pop eye eating a can of his favorite food then went on. Idiot comes over all chat wondering how i did that. i told him the loadout, the 6 Medium pulse lazors to the head compartment. I was thinking "WTF, I drive a hunchie, i head shotted a hunchie........ has this guy not worked on headshotting the type of mech he was in? does he not know where to make headshots on a mech where it seems simplistic to shoot a mech's with a cockpit that happens to be at the spot you expect it to be." at the end.

3rd, had a match on caustic before they redid it. happen to walk behind the opposing team and got to their lurm boats
to something like like a lurm adder or some such stupid stuff. don't really care to remember what it was, but it was small and squishy. Well the pilot of the thing had complained at the start of the match about "omg the hackers." type of story about this one guy in his last match. so the match was base defense as well, So i managed to get around from F6 through F5 to F4 where the Lurms boats/snipers were...... all which are not paying attention to me but were looking at the fight. Of course i see the rest of the team was losing badly, well because of pug matchs ya know.......... So at this point i see this guy in his squishy mech talking about his last match, and was like "He's going to have a bad day". one shotted him in the back from my hunchie 4p. ya know, the sorry not sorry bit. he complained i was one of the evil guys despite the fact i was able to clearly walk across where i did & did so unchecked by any of them & with none of them the wiser til i blew away the second guy

So there I am in my CTF-0XP, sitting on 70 tons of power, one AC/20 and 4 med lasers. HPG map. We're running around and about equal on kills. I've got a medium and a heavy covering my right flank and I'm circling around left past a ramp at the mid-level, to creep up on an LRM Catapult, and his Timberwolf buddy. I spot the catapult looking at me, snap off a few lasers to distract him and back up.
waiting for a few seconds to make them think I'm not coming back and I see a hunchback run out of the little alcove, missing a right arm. Back exposed to me. I've started to advance, and why not, pull the trigger on the AC/20.
BOOM! Shot tears through the Hunchback's side armor and he falls over. Twist left to be ready for the Catapult, clear the ramp and he's still looking right at me. I pull the trigger.
BOOM! HEADSHOT! Catapult goes down!
Damn, I might as well keep advancing on that Timberwolf...
I continue on around and see that he's rushing past me towards the drop down to the low-level entrance to the underneath...

That one I couldn't kill with a single shot, but I tore off an arm and opened up his rear armor :)

so i just had this...
moving on HPG out into the central area, waiting to shoot some enemies with 2 ER PPC + 2 UAC2's that come from their starting spot...
nearly all mechs passed but one went back, couldnt see what it was.
waited a bit, then he walked out again, it was a firestarter.
shot, hitting him.
he moved on to the wall in front of him as he suddenly died.

turned out to be a gauss firestarter and his gauss exploded Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

Got two of em within about 10 seconds of each other.

I was in a dual gauss Night Gyr on Crimson.
2 locusts tried to ankle bite me to death.
I guess they did not think I knew how to aim of my arm reticle.

Had a funny one on Crimson Strait.

Was in a dual PPC Kit Fox, trying to pick off stragglers from the top of the mountain. Spotted a Dire Whale with loads of dakka (2x UAC/20, 2x UAC/10). Thought to myself, maybe I'll just keep raining PPCs on the whale while it's waddling towards the tunnel.

Blam. Two ERPPCs to the rear CT. For a moment there, nothing happened, and then suddenly the game announces that I killed the direwhale. Must've been an ammo detonation on it.

Remember folks, even if you got CASE everywhere on clan mechs, there's just some places where it's ill advised to store ammunition...
