Hi all, I pilot Ravens, you probably don't like that, but here we are. I've got questions about the skill system, I feel like I've lost skills.

I've come back after ~2 years, My RVN-3L has all basic (blue) and elite (green) skills learned. It has a green star on the mech picture in the top right.

Both my RVN-2X and RVN-4X Have all basic (blue) skills learned. They have a blue star on the top right of the mech picture - but a green ELITE Banner on the top left, something my RVN-3L does NOT have, in spite of it being the only variant with all (any) Elite skills learned.

My RVN-H Has all but Twist X learned in Basic. It has no blue star, and a blue basic banner. This is the only variant I'm not confused by.

On my RVN-2X and 4X all the Elite skills are locked in the 'mech tree area. Is this because I don't currently own those two variants? I'd like to get the master mod slot, eventually, but I don't see how i can do that with ELITE skills locked out on all my raven variants except the 3L.

Can anyone explain this a little better?

Unfortunately, this article explains my problem better, indicating that something's weird.

It says I must unlock the basic skills on 3 variants in order to unlock elite skills.

I have elite skills unlocked, my 3L variant has all of them already learned.

However, on my 2X and 4X, I have all BASIC skills unlocked, but have no option to start unlocking elite skills. At one point this worked, it let me buy elite skills on my 3L because I had ALL the basic skills on two other variants as well.

But now, it's not letting me purchase any elite skills on the 2X and 4X.

I'm not sure I'm understanding your problem but...

The banner thing is just to indicate the "tier" of skills you're working on in that mech. So if it is a banner that says "Elite" it indicates that you can buy elite skills but don't already have them all. When you have them all unlocked the banner disappears and transform into a green-ish star. Same for basics (except blue banner/star).

As for not being able to unlock elites on the 2x and 4x... you should be able to, since you have three lights with complete basic skills unlocked. But you must have the mech on your stable , you can't unlock skills if you don't own the mech. That's the only reason I can think of for the game not leting you unlock skills.

Fill all basics. Elites should become available if not already so.

You won't be able to "buy" your skills until you have sufficient XP. Cheapest was 3,000 I believe.

you cannot earn elite skills on a Mech until you have completed basic on at least 3 varients of the chassis, you clearly say you have twist X as the only unlocked skill on the 4X so you should not be able to purchase any of the elite skills for any raven unless 3 varients have the basics unlocked, there are 4 raven varients total, that is the 3L, 2X, 4X and Hugin, if you have not completed basic on the 2X or 4X there is no way your 3L should be able to have any of the Elite skills ^{(Speed Tweak, Fast Fire, Pinpoint, Quick Ignition)} unlocked

While everything you advised is correct, I believe OP stated he has all basics on 2x and 4x. The Huginn is the mech with only twist X.

That said, I bet you sold the 2x and 4x? If so, I'd advise you to buy one of them back. Next, level up your -H and the 2x/4x you bought back. You'll have to get elite skills on 3 to unlock the ability to master any one of them.
