I think I'm at the point where I'm done paying for IS Battlemechs in MWO, unless it's the Axman. I'm also running out of Clan mechs I'd be willing to pay for. Now, for the right price, I might be interested in paying for IS omninechs, because they actually provide something new to the game. There are a few that can be added to the game right now, I think, without adding new technology (such as IS ERML or IS LB20X)

Light mechs:
Raptor (3052) - 25 tons
Owens (3056) - 35 tons

Medium mechs:
Firestarter (3056) - 40 tons
Strider (3057) - 40 tons
Blackjack (3057) - 50 tons

Heavy mechs:
Avatar (3056) - 70 tons

Assault mechs:
Sunder (3056) - 90 tons

There's enough to do a 1-1-1-1 Mech pack, although PGI has expressed that they don't want to do those anymore. Seeing how profitable single mech packs are, that's no surprise.

Do you think we'll get IS Omnimechs soon, with or without the timeline being pushed to 3056 or 3057? Would you pay for these? Some of them have the potential to be really good, I think. Though I'm not sure I would pay money for them.

Unless they change the omnimech construction rules or promise me some super quirks, I hope these never get released for the most part. Some of these make the Clan omni's look good.

I'd pay for the Raptor at the very least. Finally a good 25 ton option with the ability to boat up to 8 or 9 lasers. Yes please.

Yeah, XL 360 Sunder, ~35 tons of podspace, 70 kph. You can put more firepower on a Kingfisher.

But, I ******* love the Sunder so I will definitely get it.

I agree with Quicksilver, some of these mechs would only get single heat sinks, etc.

Dear lord, the Strider sucks. And the 90 ton Sunder with XL engine... Poor thing.

The BJ omni comes with a 200xl... It'd be a death trap.

Early IS omnis are crap. All of them. The only way to fix them without breaking the construction rules would be uber-quircking them to the point where SHS become as good as DHS.IMO we should stick with battlemechs, because they would end up being more flexible than omnis anyway.

Bah! I forgot that you can't upgrade SHS on omnis. And it's not like PGI is in a hurry to make SHS a viable alternative to DHS.

So... I guess I'll just wait for the Axman. Shouldn't be too long, right?

You can't tell me the Raptor wouldn't instantly obsolete the COM-D and at least compete with the WLF-1 as a ground-bound light skirmisher.

-Edit- The Raptor has DHS

Actually, most of the mechs in that list have DHS! All this talk about SHS being bad, and only the Owens and Strider have SHS from that list in the OP.

It goes the speed of a Mist Lynx, so it wouldn't obsolete anything.

Right. Although there aren't that many that have DHS, Endo and a big enough engine for their size, sadly.

Everyone's always so eager to call DOA even when we're just conceptualizing. ~meh~

A bit slow and it doesn't have FF.So yes, I can tell you that.Besides, even if one mech is ok, the rest are still bad.

Don't forget about locked engines!

Sunder has a big XL which could ruin this mech if the hitboxes aren't very good.
And the Raptor is too slow for it's weight.

Well... The Raptor is one of the better ones on this list. The Strider would compete for worst mech in game. The BJ omni would be going assault mech speed, etc.

Lets talk about the Sunder.

35 tons of podspace from what I remember.

Optimal hardpoint layout without made up variants is essentially 1 Ballistic in left arm, 2 E in torsos, 2 E in right arm, 2 M in CT and 1M in the Head, 15 hardlocked DHS. Essentially the prime variant hardpoints, why bother being an Omni-mech!?

So, you could do a Gauss, 2 LPL and 2 MLs and an extra heatsink. Pretty underwhelming for a 90 tonner.

Or AC20, 4 MPLs, 3 SRM4s.. meh.

I don't know, anyone see anything hopeful?
