Sorry devs but labelling a server located in Singapore as Oceania and not Asia is false advertising. The ping is also terrible at 140ms vs World of Tanks and World of Warships both who host Asia servers in Singapore that deliver 100ms pings.

You may need to work on your network routing to Oceanic countries like Australia and New Zealand so we can get decent pings on this server.

Just call the server Asia which is where its located.

You know what? I won't complain about a singapore server compared to what we have now. The Europe server is actually 50 ping higher than the NA for me!

Even if its not in China, a singapore server would still be a step forward for my ping.

I'd've labeled it "South East Asia" or SEA server, not Oceania, but that's me.

they put it to singapore instead of australia because otherwise even less people from usa and europe would play there, at least singapore gives them some tolerable ping

if you have a too bad ping consider to traceroute and to connect the technical support

Calling it SEA or South East Asia would have been accurate too. I think thats what Wargaming called the servers before they renamed them to Asia.

They took the cheaper route placing the server where it is.

It's cute you actually thought PGI would buy bandwidth within Australia. I need to stick to NA servers, routing to Singapore is like playing in EU for most of us over here. These are Asian servers, not Oceanic servers. They do not cater for 99% of Aus/NZ.

As stated above, it was the cheapest route to pretending to care about Oceania.

Singapore actually have good routes to AU server locations, unfortunately, not the other way around. That's from my experience anyway, having some friends over there.

ughm, well, i sometimes forget that some of people are not very bright and need a lengthy explanation to understand something

it's pretty simple actually, if they set a server in australia it would have a nice ping for australians and kiwis but very bad for americans and europeans, so it would be barely inhabited; a singapore server on the other hand have a decent ping for australians etc and not so bad ping for amercans and europeans as well, that's why it's a preferred spot for an oceania server. verstehen?

Either that or more than 3-4 people play from Australia / NZ.

As for kharnzor don't mean to sound like a enforcer but go easy on him, he's pretty new and sometimes says stuff he doesn't mean. But by all means if you feel obligated to put him in his place please do, but not with straight on insults like "idiot"

Someone update this but from what I understand Singapore routes into Perth and then across to the Eastern states. Its like you guys in the west coast usa putting it in Japan and saying yup got 55 ping to Alaska, this is our new California server.

Good try though, a rename to SE Asia and you'll save yourself some flaming during steam launch
