I have a crappy internet connection,, but still can get 3000 damage and 10 kills in 12 man invasion CW. But more and more often, I keep getting "friendly fire " or team kill penalties that are completely bogus. No possibility of it happening in most cases, specially in ghost drops,, keeps telling me I did 22 pts damage to my team. Its BS, I only hit the field base once with 4 medium pulse.
Worse yet, tonight , i was having frame rate issues and was tweaking my graphics when the game crashed 3 times in a row in about 3 hours. Now it said I am locked out of the game for 29.5 minutes for leaving early, even though I immediately rejoined and finished the drop with 3 kills and about 1000 damage.
This is just cruel. It keeps doubling the time Im locked out of the game when it crashes.
Am I the only one getting massive fake team damage and lock outs since this patch?

Not proven, but the game might count damage done to your own mech as friendly dire. As in overheating or hurting ones legs while running. Or damage done to friendly mechs by crashing into them.

Collision damage with friendly 'Mechs is counted as FF. You incur it whether you caused the collision or not... the 1-5 points from getting into stupid fender-benders at the start of the match is the only team damage I usually get. It would not be surprising for a player with a bad connection to run into other players a lot more and generate a higher team damage number.

Not sure if it counts overheat damage or not. My suspicion is 'not', because I run a few stupid troll builds that overheat damn near constantly, but my team damage in those is as negligible as in any other build.

That is 100% from running into mechs, It also i bet has to do with your connection.

im locked out again for 10 minutes now,, and the only thing thats happened today is graphics crashing,, and crash report. Each time it crashes,, the time lock out of CW is doubled. Tell me someone else is getting locked out of the game for up to 30 minutes for random disconnects and crash report pop up.

When was the last time you used repair tool?

What are your system specs?

Have you done a trace route and sent it to PGI? Or just seen if you are being sent to the four corners of the earth BEFORE making it to PGI servers?

What kind of Internet speed do you experience/pay for?

After the last patch, my team and I have had numerous disconnects that have not occurred before and they are being accompanied by weird reports from other software popping up at the same time.

If you have a bad connection, where you think are may not be the same as where you are in game, and you could easily be stepping into other mechs that you never see. Also if you use lrms they may be hitting others who are in combat near the mech you are gunning for (not getting into the lrms argument though).

22 team damage is not too bad for a long game, and I have had team kills with less than 10 damage total because those folks were on their last legs and ran in front of me.

I do like the new team damage cbill penalties, because they may not be large in reality it will make folks notice more while they go for the kills while hiding in the back. Not quite sure about the folks who run in front though.

I've ended a couple matches with 0 Team Damage and 70-150 C-bills deducted for "Team Damage", so this may very well be true. But running into friendlies does add to the end-of-match Team Damage counter for clipping legs, unless you're suggesting it may not be showing up in the actual damage counter but the penalty still does?
