Title say it all, currently you have to press and hold the arm lock toggle button. Please make it a real toggle.
I use it if I get into a situation where I am at close range and having to twist fast. It is easier to get back on the target with all weapons converging with arms locked. That is the only time I want them locked but requires me to focus on holding 1 more button while in a bad spot where I need to focus on surviving.

There IS a toggle. You've got the wrong one mapped.

Arm lock shouldn't even be available after you have played out your cadet bonus.

Pretty sure somebody could write a script to have arm lock turn on and off every time you push W(forward) with the ability to hold a g button modifier to keep it on while you are moving.

Of course that may be considered a crutch

Or they could just use the built in toggle key PGI provided?

Only a meathead Minbari from the warrior caste would say such a thing to one from the Religious caste. Posted Image

Wrong, its semi-bugged. One of the toggle options 're-locks' it when the hold is used.

With arms unlock, no mater how slowly you move the reticle, the torso will always lag behind the arms and thats just straight up stupid. sure the torso has a lower maximum speed than the arms but to have it always lag behind makes no sense.

Its not lagging behind. Your torso is turning at the SAME RATE it was before, your arms however move faster. So your arms are actually aiming at a point SOONER than they would if you had them locked to your torso, and your torso is getting to the target at the same time it would have.

breakdown:
-torso moving same speed, reaches target at the same time
-arms move independently, so can reach the target even faster than the torso
-again, your arms are hitting the target before your torso would have gotten there with your arms locked to torso.

So that's the reason, your torso has a fixed turn rate, your arms aren't turning. Just like your own body, if your turn 90 degrees to your right and hold your arms still it moves at a single rate, while if you turn and also swing your arm out, your arm goes 'faster' because you're also turning.

No. You assume i move my arms at top speed all the time. Try it for yourself, your torso will always lag behind if your arms are unlocked. Get both centered, now aim them slowly to the side and watch as the arms get a headstart that the torso can;t catch up to. Now lock the arms and suddently the torso can move as "fast" as the arms, granted you do not exceed the torso twist.

Ive played my ENF 4R all night yesterday, the ac10 in the arm and 2 LL in the torso rather than the arms. You just cannot sync both no mather how slow you aim unless you are locked. I tried to figure out if the game actually let the ac10 get the headway it needed to land the shot(fly time) with the LL on target but no.
