Is there a reason or have I just been seriously unlucky, pretty much every match has been a roll and my teams never do well. They never cap during conquest, they die without killing more than 3 mechs, it's just a joke. I was on the verge of jumping to tier 2 today but due to so many losses I've really dropped away from it.

I've had ten out of ten losses in a row in the last 24 hours regardless of time, 'mech, or server. I realise that statistically speaking this is possible but it's entirely infuriating!

It often feels like the matchmaker points its finger and says, "YOU!" and then pushes the "suck button" on match quality.

When this happens, I try a different mech and/or weight class.

Also, experiment with different servers but toggling one or two off if you have them all selected...or turning one or two on if you have any deselected.

Basically, try to get some new variables into your matches that might shake things up a bit.

Um. You might have better chances of carrying your team in something other than a locust. Just sayin.

I have found that taking a 10 or 20 minute break helps get me into a different grove.
When that does not work I switch weight class.
When that does not work I do something else.

I admit I'm trying to find the right light for me, even so the quality of the teams I've been on have been poor, I'm doing my job in a locust, i.e scouting and escorting but I dunno what the rest of the team is doing they just seem to be suiciding all the time.

Lemmings, blind hamsters, Leeroy Jenkins or just bad players.

In any cases tier 5 is the best, you don't have to bother with any of it, only thing you have to do is play.

I was getting the Elite skills on two Hellbringers a couple days ago and using up two days of Premium time that I had banked from events to do it.

On day one, I was on the winning side 18 times out of 22 games. I harvested enough XP and C-bills to get the elite skills on 1 1/2 of the HBR plus unlock two weapons modules and finish getting Seismic Sensor.

On day two, I was on the winning side 4 out of 17 games and it took me all those games to finish getting the last two skills to Elite the second HBR.

I always start every game by saying "hello" on VOIP to see how many players will talk. Usually that gets the talking going and in some games we continue to communicate really well and roll to a win. Once in a while we talk and still get rolled. If no one answers me or talks it is usually the opposite scenario. Once in a while we still win. Most of the time we lose.

That's the PUG LIFE for you

Expect half the team to have a very poor performance.

That is the match maker seeking its revenge on you for previous victories. That will teach you!

Happens to all of us.

I do what others have said by changing things around.

Additionally, if you are dropping as a group, changing who is in the group makes a difference as well... and it isn't necessarily your tier 1 buddy wrecking things for you. Adding a player, subtracting a player, say abracadabra three times, seems to do the trick.

alright so here are my advices:
-to get to tier 2, stick to something that can carry your entire team. personnaly, i ran a bj-1x, dealing over 700 damages each games to 1100 in some. you need to understand that you only have one or two good mates in your team, and the MM chose you and these 2 to carry all the others. don't expect anything from your team.
-get the command of your team, as the leader of the drop, by placing orders on the map or in the chat (i diseabled the chat since i got a 2 days ban for extreme toxicity due to my teammates)
many times your "allies" don't know what to do on the map, where to go, how to place themselves, etc... seems like they are brainless. so you need to command them and tell them what to do.
you are the brain of your team!
-don't forget that even if you lose, PGI made the things right by allowing you to not lose tier points when you do great, even if you lose the game. so focus on your performance.

Take a break from MWO. There are so many other games worth playing at the moment. If MWO is the only game you play you're missing out on a lot.

I go from one game to another, I think I become obsessed to the point I burn myself out and then move on, until it eventually comes back around.

Just stop playing. Go find another game on Steam or something. That's what I do.

Are your opponents jumping to the forums to talk about how good their matches were today? If not, then you might want to ask yourself something:

"Why do I post when I have losing streaks, but not when I have winning streaks?"

And the answer is: you don't care about fair. If you cared about fair matchmaking, then you would complain about your winning streaks as much as your losing streaks.

You think imbalance is not acceptable if you're on the losing side, but it is acceptable if you are on the winning side. Don't worry, though, as most people are not willing to admit that winning streaks are as imbalanced as losing streaks.

@OP Stop scouting and escorting and start killing mechs and you will win more. You want to find one of those helpless assault pilots who always get left behind and sit on his *** and chew through his rear armor until he is dead. :P
