Why Do We Have Poor Scouting?

It's not that we're losing the scouting, we're just NOT scouting consistently.
Why is this?

Also you have to like getting blasted to never never land by 4 Storm crows
I don’t care what Mech you have
It’s a good thing I don’t have more lights and mediums because I would still be trying
Different builds
I keep adding and taking off $$ Ferro with the hopes of finding some magic combination
Don’t get me wrong I am not trying to dominate or anything like that I just would like to pull
The trigger on my weapons more than 4 times

I would like to see FP gain more folks. Is MWO not doing well?
Thanks for the replies to the thread!

How are they going to drop w/ Atlai when the tonnage is 55 max???
In all seriousness, i get more worried about ach and jenner IIc drops than 4 stormcrows...
Them crow legs are tasty...

(Don't bother trying to collect many intel points until PGI come to their senses and reduce the tonnage to something more like Scout Mech tonnage, say 40t.)

Some options in the tonnage range are far superior to others, and that does make things annoying - but I'm pretty confident it's just a population issue.

Though not much point in using lights in scouting mode, much better off using mediums

There's your answer, man.
Wow such an eloquent, well thought out post...
Look I made a crack about a "Steiner scout lance" but at least i tried to offer something constructive as well.
If you are going to take a swipe at a faction, you could at least make it entertaining...

High DPS Hunchbacks 4SP or 4P, storm crow legs are weak, don't shoot for the torso. I have seen lots of Griffins also, I just don't have Griffs or Centurions, so I can't speak to them.

Its easy to win with a Team mixed of Blackjacks, Hunchbacks, Griffins or Centurions
But i see very often Trial Mechs in our Teams and other Mechs that doesent perform well like
the commandos.

The people who are doing your scouting playing stupidly! Trying to brawl with crows in NON-meta IS mechs is as stupid as stupid can get. Trying to fight the enemy on gather missions first, then gather second is just dumb. Maybe you should tell your players to GATHER on Gather Intel missions and use appropriate mechs and when you are on protect to get some decent mechs with flamers and Point-Damage weapons.
Seriously, I was in a protect with 3 Steiners, one brought a locust 1-v, one brought a Cicada 3c and the other brought a LRM Treb 7M. How in the heck are you supposed to protect intel with those three mechs? All of these fellows belonged to units and one of them had a founder's tag!
