First short phase of FP 4.1 is done. Was looking at the war log. Its interesting that it show us match history and essentially shows us the win rates.

looks like from 3pm to 4:40ish pm. 83 FP matches took place the split was 26 wins for IS and 57 Clan victories. Not going to make any judgement yet, just some observations. obviously More time and data needs to be observed to say anything for sure, but the early stats show the following:

- massive clan win rate (i think this is partly due to the quick play maps, I think clans advantages are more pronounced on more open maps, as shown by clan mechs dominating the tournament played on QP maps)

- took less than two hours to max the invasion bar, locking the mode into invasion ( I dont mind since I play the mode to play invasion) but this renders all the work to include the FP maps an modes pretty useless as, they will get played for like 1 hour per phase before invasion takes over.

What is your opinions? A tech, skill or population biase in favour of the Clans?

I played a few matches. Domination was fun. The dropdeckmechanic gave this a chaotic spin. We even bested a premade with a pugdrop just because we gained timeradvantage early on. Gave me quite the giggle.
Invasion feels like back in the day when laservomit was the only viable solution. Yes you can alpha like a mofo due to heatsinkchanges.

Don't worry. More units will flip to Clans now that being a loyalist is pointless, stomps will snowball and the pugs who've trickled in will flee. Then we're back to where we were!

Just what I wanted, to get the snot kicked out me on wide open maps by Clan mechs before I could get a shot off. I might as well sell off half of my goddamn...now mostly useless IS mechs and trade em in for Clan tech.

Which maps have bedn included in the update and why can't you setup an IS deck to cater to longish range if that us the issue?

Favorite part so far. Contracts not reset so if you got bent over as a Loyalist in phase 3, you get to keep getting pounded in the backside.

getting in close to clanners has always been an issue for IS, its an inherent flaw in their brawler/shartrange focused weapons. nothings changed, the primary challenge has been and always will be getting close with IS mechs. we just need new strategies for it on the IS side.

if they did a true reset, everyone would go clans and it would be a real cluster **** for The IS pugs.

Not everyone, but most.
It is a double down on screwwing the I.S. loyalist.

"Not going to pass judgement yet" but I am going to say clans op fp 1 sided based on a few hours ? you need to give it at least 7 days, different timezones will have different groups of different skilllevels playing on each side.

Do not forget the "new mech" bias.
All realy good usefull mechs that came out since Resistance 2 where Clan Mechs and Res 2 has been nerfed into oblivion by rescale so...what do you ppl expect.

Well I just did 3 IS drops with skirmish, skirmish, domination. We got crushed. The domination was a little closer because we could close range. Trying to fight 12 clan assaults on polar highlands is stupid.

Clans were OP in FP 3. The clans got a heat sink buff this patch. What did you think was going to happen?

What's bad about this is the old "Buff the IS dropdeck for great balance" doesn't work for the QP maps, as you can take two assaults and two lights, and not use the lights in the 15 minute match.

That said, the additions to Tourmaline were nice. Had an IS domination win there because our lights got into the circle first and got us on the clock. Clanners were too slow and never got their foot in the door.

Just bite the bullet, IS loyalists. What are you waiting for? MWO to suddenly become the game you want it to be?

It's going to suck being a loyalist, you'll be trapped in one bukkit full of pugs and getting demolished by all the units who saw the writing on the wall years ago.

Eat the penalty, bust the contract and get out. Farm up meec LP and later on you can pop into factions as loyalists and farm the LP there until you're ready to move on.

Factions mean nothing and our attachment to them was our own mistake. It's not like it's going to get better later. Stay IS loyalist and get farmed or go merc and follow the salmon.

Well when one side wins 70 % of them matches in few hours, I would say that is kinda revealing no matter how you try to spin it. Ppersonally played 5 matches this evening, all diiferent modes and all of them where the same thing. Long range Clan mechs just taking out IS mechs and then Kodiaks and other Assaults mopping up what was left.

Those clanner are trying to argue about that, I have one thing to say. Switch to IS for day or two and see what happens and if you can actually win something more than lose then tell us what you did. So we can actually learn.

So just did a couple of drops with some of the folks with Coma....end result..we got decimated. **** Faction 4.1 and more importantly **** PGI.

Some fun bugs:

-The game thinks we are in quickplay and limits our tonnage for our first mechs.
-Can't drop with 11
-Many quirk changes not in the patch notes.
