So. Is there really any reason why you should need two players with premium time for private matches? The other day I wanted to do some 1v1s with a friend who I was trying to get into the game, but since he was new he didn't have any premium time and he didn't want to spend money on any since he didn't know if it was gonna be worth it. My proposition is simple. Remove the pay-wall for private matches as there is really no reason for it to be there. Also CW maps in private matches plz.

I am sure that PGI's justification for making private matches Pay to Play is that they have to provide the server space to host those matches.

Ah! That makes sense. Ok. I'd still like to be able to do 1v1's with other casuals tho...

But they let people play the real game, in real matches, for C-Bills and XP for free?
Why would a tiny, featureless map with 2 people take so many resources that it's unfeasible?

If it's really a problem, they could have one player host the match locally. It's not THAT complicated or resource intensive.
