Good video although the format has changed.

OK, I have ONE Mech Module and I want the Radar one and the Zoom lens.

I can buy both of them. I can buy them as Mech Modules or as Pilot Modules.

I understand where the Mech one goes but where and how many Pilot Module slots do I have? Do Pilot Modules go into the Mech Module slot?

Mech Modules ARE Pilot Modules. So are Weapon Modules and Consumables.

There are no "PILOT" modules. The Pilot Skills are what you need to unlock modules.

The look of the screen has changed slightly, but how they work is still exactly the same as what is in the video. I really don't know how to explain it better to you than the video does.

Picture it this way (and note this is meant from an IS perspective so put a Clan twist on it)

You're going into battle and after each battle you come back from, you get some R&R. In the bar, you overhear things. Soon you learn about things. Fancy targeting systems, or 'tweaks' to enhance a weapon's range or ways to shorten the recycle time on an autocannon or a fancy charging system for lasers. Things like that. Eventually you "learn enough" information and meet enough people (GXP) that you can put forth a little bit of fact finding by stepping up and asking things that you probably shouldn't ask about.

That's when you discovered that special something on the black market. (Unlocking the ability to get the module) You're told a price and a time.

When you get there, the first thing you see are guards, a fancy ride, and a big truck with a commercial securitymech escort,. Had to come alone, in a car, with Cbills in a briefcase. 2 to 6 million, all up front. Just in case you probably have a friend or two armed with sniper rifles, just in case.

Then after a nervous exchange, you have it. A black market, illegal upgrade. Welcome to the underworld of underhanded tactics.

I really like Koniving's story telling. Makes all my modules feel almost.....dirty. I like it.

Lets try this.

1. Play mech and earn experience. You will earn mech experience (experience used to upgrade the mech) and general experience (GXP). I believe (I'm sure I will be corrected if I am wrong) that you earn GPX at a rate of 5% of your mech experience earned. (Example - you play match and get 1000 exp for your mech....you will receive 50 GXP as well)

2. Repeat 1 until you have several thousand GXP.

3. Once you have several thousand GXP (or more), you can then spend that GXP in the pilot skills menu and unlock the module you are interested in. This simply unlocks the module, does not actually buy one yet.

4. Now in the mech lab, you can now purchase said unlocked module with a large amount of c-bills and equip it on your mech. The module is permanent equipment that you can take off one mech and apply to another for no additional c-bills. Just don't ever sell it. Modules can be used on Clan mechs as well as IS mechs.

5. Repeat above steps for the next module.

Helpful hint (Not really but....in interest of information) - Extra mech experience can be converted to GXP at a rate of 25 exp for 1MC (game money bought with real world money). as an example, 1000 mech experience converted to 1000 GXP would cost 40MC.

Advice:

1. Do not convert mech experience to GXP. If you enjoy the game, you will eventually earn all the GXP you will know what to do with. Besides, you will need this mech experience to upgrade it. Also, it costs money and it sounds like you may be a tad short on that.

2. Forget about modules for now. It sounds like you may be eager to get some mechs moduled up, but at your stage of the game, it shouldn't be a top priority. They are expensive on many levels.

3. Do concentrate on getting 2 more mechs of your chosen chassis. This will enable you to at least elite your mechs which will give you a 2x bonus to your basic skills. Will not win the game for you, but does help. Once you master the mechs, it will unlock that bonus module slot you seem to be after.
