With current event I plan on getting one of those 2 when I reach the end, I never owned any of those chassis. KGC-000B(C) vs. WHK-C(C)

I'm yet unsure if I will keep the (C) or instead go for the best variant as I usually keep only one variant for each chassis, with a few excpetion of course.

So which chassis you prefer and which variant for each chassis is your favorite and why?

Thanks

Both are fun mechs.

It comes down to what faction you play more; IS or Clan...

I love the WHK since ... well ... 20 years ago or so.
And I played it with passion for days (net match time) in MWO.
But the sad truth I have to admit is: It's kind of squishy hitbox-wise.
The EXE feels about twice as durable.

So sad, poor WHK Posted Image

King Crab is more useful in CW, but in Solo-Q, I am always at home with 85 ton Assaults. Given the chance, I would choose the Warhawk. A Warhawk is 1.5 times more expensive than a KGC anyway so it is also C-Bill saving.

King Crab is probably slightly better, but it's a bit on the slow side. Warhawks can be nasty customers, but lately I mostly see them used as LRM boats.

I adore my Warhawks and run them when I'm stuck in the challenges and need to actually get decent performance. Also, even though my unit is IS 95% of the time, I rarely put 100 ton mechs in my drop deck.

I'd go with the Warhawk.

Well, they promo is giving away the C(C), which has a CT energy point. The B has a CT missile point. Quirks aside (reverse speed vs. accel/decell quirks), the Prime and A are pretty much the same. The nature of the omnipod system makes the distinctions between variants pretty pointless in most cases.

The nice thing about Warhawks is that you can make them do anything virtually anything Stalkers do, but better, so if you have a preferred Stalker style you can replicate it. Like LRMing, build a LRMHawk, like ER PPCs, no problem. It's a versatile chassis that's pretty nimble for its size.

Warhawks will probably end up a lot better after the rescale. PGI has said they're getting a slight remodel, and this should make them a lot better. If we're lucky, that massive torso will get toned down a bit. If they'd ever just get off their asses and release the frickin F model, the Warhawk would be beastly. Seriously... we need to push harder for some mechs to get much-needed variants.

It took me a while to find out this event wasn't for PUG... I thought Personal challenge was like usual, I knew there was scouting with faction then I saw personal challenge below and thought it was like in the past.

Oh well, thanks for all you input anyway.

It's not that bad hitbox wise... it's more that it looks like a dire wolf so everyone goes "oh ****" and focuses you down.

Realistically the Warhawk should be %20 narrower from the front in the torsi. It would be such a great mech if it was. It's like a hollow Direwolf lol...
Warhawk makes a good missile boat. But it's squishy. It can dual ac20 quite well. KGC is a really good 100 tonner all around.

Maybe. Still I feel when getting shot at in a WHK, one side torso is immediately off. While in an EXE ... "Yeah, shoot at me. Okay. There you go. Ok, time to retreat. Yeah, shoot some more. I don't care." Huge difference.

Maybe it's because the WHK's arms hardly shield the side.

It's the combination of a lot of things... Profile too much like a Dire, can't tell them apart at a distance. Overly large for an 85-tonner... should have a torso half the size of a Stalker because of the massive arms. Arms don't shield the torso, at all - ignoring the original's high-positioned arms was a mistake.

PGI is doing a minor remodel of the Warhawk, which I hope fixes these issues. Really it wouldn't take much. But like I said, you wanna make the Warhawk shine, release the F model. It's not even remotely funny how much better this mech would be with the F out there.

4 ballistic King crab isn't the best. It's not the worst if you plan on buying others so you can save some cbills xping it.

The warhawk can be anything because of the pods I would take it if you never plan on buying others. The warhawk is worth about 5 million more if you plan on selling it too.

I think the question should be... which mech has the better pilot's seat?

Warhawks I are quite good PPC boats or LL and LPL boats. I rarely pilot them, but I've had some of my best games with the Warhawk.
