In my case it's the flexible nature of the BattleMech. For example, when I read about the Trebuchet and saw the picture with the 2 LRM-15 and the 3 MLas I immediately started changing the loadout: how would the Mech fare when I swap an LRM for an SRM and replace 2 MLas with a LLas for example?
It should even be possible to change one of the lasers with a PPC, not leaving much room for other weapons and not really optimal for the Mech, but possible - or remove all the lasers and increase one or both LRM to 20.

I will, like most of you, spend half my playtime in the Mechlab :)

I got big plans for the Trenchbucket too. I want to turn it into a monstrousity that i can use to hunt assault mechs in urban enviroments.
I'll be focusing on ECM, SRM's, medium lasers and pure speed. And if i can get ahold of that variant with jump jets...hehehehe...huhuhu

The entire MechWarrior experience: engineering a favorite mech, getting old Battle Tech friends together to raid or protect, running that light or medium mech down the throat of an Atlas and last but not least blasting away with the power of the assault mech. I have very high hopes for MWO that this development group will produce that kind of game that you can play for years without it becoming old or boring.

There are so many facets to the Battle Tech/Mech Warrior universe that the possibilities are nearly endless. Who among us would not want to earn honors at Solaris 7 or Run the battlefield to save our house leader or unit commander or jump into battle with a company of compatriots or even role play your character to help negotiate a famous treaty?

Hopefully, the developers have not ruled out anything yet: much more work for them and much more fun for all of us.
