One shouldn't be surprised at Russ's statement and no, he didn't say they don't value feedback. Most of the "feedback" is short sighted garbage but that's to be expected. Why I'm not surprised when developers and such make a statement like his is due to the arrogant "I'm absolutely right" style posts that are all too common and often overshadow the good posts.

I'm sure they appreciate constructive feedback but people who get high handed can wear on the nerves and cause such feelings from time to time.

That may be true but in the end it's up to the devs to filter through that 'garbage' and capitalize on the good ideas that come out. If you frequent any game forum every single one is the same. This is the first I've seen where the president calls out the players saying they're ideas suck because they're not devs.
It's bad for business. Be professional.

If one was really looking forward to Faction Warfare 3 being the savior of community warfare; this little stunt from Russ should worry you.

He didn't even do that when 3PV, Ghost heat, and consumable erupted the forums. We were a "passionate" fan base, not a bunch of scrubs that haven't developed a game.

I get what your saying but if you got the cbills give clan mechs/tech a try thats all I am saying.

I've bought all the Clan mechs available thus far, the exceptions being the Kodiak and Viper, due to my current financial situation it's just not workable.

That said I have all of Clan Waves 1/2/3, that means I have all 64 currently available Clan mechs, including the Loyalty Nova and Executioner.

I've played every Clan mech at least a couple times so I really don't see what the problem is that you're having.

I learned from the town hall that, since I'm a solo player, 'this isn't the game for me' and that I should shut up and sit down and let PGI develop their magnum opus in peace instead of attempting to give constructive feedback.

Well, OK. It's pretty easy to do both of those ... and it'll save me a lot of money, too.

To me though the blatant hypocrisy of Russ' now clearly expressed view of what he sees as the community's ignorance is expressed pretty clearly in the history of patches and hot fixes. The patches may very well be created exclusively by PGI, absent of any consideration of the community (I don't believe that, but whatever), but the hot fixes that inevitably follow are a direct consequence of the community's feed back. After all, Russ personally stated that P3 was "bug free", and yet...

So, thank you MWO player community. Historically you have known best and let PGI know it. You may not be consistent, and have your own personal axes to grind, but the history of this game makes it clear (despite Russ' assertions to the contrary) that it is often you who are needed to let PGI know where it has screwed up and how their latest screw up can be fixed. I'm grateful to PGI for the game, but I am more grateful to you for helping keep the game funded and letting PGI know where it needs improvement. Russ can pretend that MWO is "all PGI" but reality just doesn't support that narrative.

I get what your saying and I do not plan on shoving my opinion down anyone's throat, nor am I implying, that is what you were saying. This being said it always comes down to one phrase, to each his own.

With that in mind I listened to this town hall that everyone is freaking about. I have to be honest in my opinion you guys owe this guy a huge apology. Ive been on the job for 15 years and if at the end of a day I had to deal with people picking apart my work and unable to make up their minds I would be peeved. Honestly i would feel like putting them threw a wall. Who ever is running these podcasts might want to think about cutting it back to an hour tops, getting the questions in before the pod cast, and picking the right ones. Listening to him talk you could just hear the frustration in his voice.

The one thing that caught my attention was the talk of scaling the mechs in game to their proper sizes, that sounded like allot of fun.

It is time we start voting with our wallets. Mechs are always eventually available with C-Bills. Mechbays are still available with CW.

Yes we have a lot of complaint threads. Does that mean that our feedback means jack ****? No. It means that we still care. Once people stop caring about a game, it usually means we are about to go spend money on something else. I say resist buying new mech packs when they appear from now on, and upgrade your rig with the money saved. You get a better experience, and you get to play this game free still. Win-win.

We should also start a petition for the server code to be distributed freely. Maybe some of the passionate "scrubs" can do some amazing things for the state of the game. Overall I am quite unhappy that our overlord had shown us to be peasants who only know how to open our wallets and throw money at mechs.

I can only imagine the horror... The humanity!

The community doing a better job balancing the game than the company that started it all.

What a world we live in that has such people in it. Posted Image

Okay, sarcasm over.

Edit: Also, Afuldan, I too remember BT MUX's.

I still log into Frontier Lands once in a while. Not the same anymore, now that there isn't anyone around.
