Funny.
I had the same feelings when i heard about the game back in '09. But when i heard the game was going f2p, i figured they would make the right calls [a leauge of legends format if you will; Spend money for fluff, not content] and still produce an enjoyable experiance for me and my old man, a long time mechwarrior fan himself. He was quite sceptical of course, and so was I. At the core i knew this all seemed to good to be true. A new mechwarrior game? True to the lore? Being made by guys who have played my all time favorite, mechwarrior 2? And know and understand what makes mechwarrior such a fun experiance? Simulation over arcade? it was a dream come true. IF it came true.
It didn't.
DrHat was pretty much correct in his assesment. If people can enjoy the game as it is, good for them. I'm glad this game can put some smiles on faces, bring up some good memories and all that. But MWO has fallen very short of the experiance i hoped for, and still dream of. Hell, i even put up money for founders because i figured things would improve as we keep moving forward. But i regret giving them money to fund the choices they've made and continue to make. It's just a shame that i have to accept the fact that Mechwarrior really dies here. This was the last shot the series had and this is all we got.
Maybe ill be surprised and someone will try again in a decade or two, But i'll leave my hopes here.
