I was in a quick battle when some guy shot me in the back. I asked him to watch his fire. He then passed me and turned and started shooting me again.

After seeing this I returned fire and a few angry words. My Mech was not a pushover and he then decided to back off and so i stopped firing.

I`d like to report this guy. What`s the process, please?

Were you in a KGC, and did you have enemies in front of you?

In game, press Tab to bring up player list and left click on the name to bring up the reporting function.

Out of game, email support at support@mwomercs.com and provide approximate time and details.

FYI, dont shoot back next time. I know how it can be when you get upset, emotions and words fly but remember its just a game and taking the high road never is a bad thing, even in a video game.

Next time just report per Aloha;s instructions up top and then move on, You are also breaking the CoC by shooting a TK'er/Trolls.

Yes, I probably should not have returned fire, but if a guy on your team suddenly started shooting you more because you asked them to watch their fire after they just knocked your rear armour down, how would you feel? Your first reaction is to defend yourself.

Anyway, i appreciate the info and the link. Complaint has been sent.

Yeah, never return fire against another team mate; You want to make it very easy to determine who the aggressor is so there's no mistake who receives punitive action.

Just report them and move on.

After all, as mentioned, it's just a game and not like you need to defend yourself like in real life. lol

So the player who was recording this was typing in team-chat about his displeasure with the tactics that his team was using (mechs were hiding inside the cave in pre-change Forest Colony but also dying one by one by creeping out of the cave and into the enemy force waiting outside)

... That alpha strike tho, it might have been an instant death if not for back armor.

Then this happened.

The player recording defensively torso-twists but notice that the other player is making absolutely no effort to finish the job, throwing superfluous damage to continue the 'fight'.

Guess who got banned?

.. The player recording this did.

Unbanned a few months later

Edit: This was a long time ago, and there are other contextual details I am excluding. In addition, PGI has gotten a lot more clear on what gets you in trouble and what doesn't, including having a much more fair and unbiased way to investigate, punishing only repeat offenders instead of isolated incidents. Not salty about this particular incident or any of the people involved but let this be a cautionary tale. Long ago it was possible to actually intentionally bait people into team attacking and then go right around and get that player banned.
