Mechs could move their arms to a defense position to fend off heavy incoming weapon fire.

I like this. You can choose to return fire, or sacrifice arms (inc anything in them) to increase the TTK on yourself.

While I like the idea of a choice of which arm to raise, I think for balance, its either raise both arms, or not. Obviously this wont apply to mechs like the JR7(IIC), RVN, JM6, STK, etc, where the arms are too short, or no real arm at all.

Possibly make mechs with more actuators or longer/bigger arms cover themselves better. EG, An AS7 covers MORE torso area, than compared to a ARC (due to its shorter arm to protruding CT design).

An Atlas might cover both ST very well, but the CT is still exposed when looking straight on - to protect the CT, you still have to twist.

Then again, this might be OP with the Kodiak with its massive arms...

Though not really a suggestion for the weapon bay door, I'd like to see the return of the ability to make a mech "Crouch" like in older MW titles, instead of having to back up, and down hills.

As for the Bay Door button... Hmmm... for mechs without one, ok.. just trying to be funny here, but how about, deploy a White Flag. "I give up!".. :)
