Not much to say other than looks like the game is heading in the worst direction possible. COD, Destiny, and Battlefield have loot crates but not in a match... Why? They knew that would ruin gameplay.

Go ahead add loot boxes in the store call steal a lore name to sell it better like clan caches. But if you're going to add it you better do it right! They need to open like lottery machines to reward peoples gambling nature requiring you to animate the opening providing a rewarding sound or chime. Oh and they can't effect gameplay...

Way better content that getting new weapons! Love it!

I keep thinking that if the "crate"/"treasure" model is cool like an ancient lost mech or what ever and maybe there is cool Lostech to be found or other cool loot. That sort of thing would be really great I think.

Maybe a supply crate dropped for the current battle even, can then be found and looted. It all looks fun to me.

This entire direction could be amazing really.

In the next patch notes:

Quote

A salvage crate may contain Arrow IV, binary lasers, Thunderbolt missiles, Long Tom cannons, Swarm II LRMs, Inner Sphere ER medium and small lasers, snub nose PPCs, LB-X slug ammo and many more, to be unlocked for the small price of 500

Ok well I hope its explained in a sim like fashion. But this game doesn't have enough premium content.

So many replies concerning free to play players, and that's fine, but there are pay to play players to! Cant have the entire focus on free to play even if that is admirable.

As a player I just want a feature complete game with tons of content. If some of that content is premium I'm fine with that.

It definitely could be. Absolutely.

But as others have hinted at, I have to wonder why PGI is choosing to take it in a direction that other games have avoided? Putting the crate on the map where it can disrupt core gameplay doesn't seem wise.

But it's early in the process, right? Hopefully they'll address the concerns that people are bringing up.

I couldn't be happier that its on the field. Really this adds another element to game play. I am not even much for PVE but I cant see how this wont find its way into PVE. Maybe none MC loot/salvage at some point, etc.

I'd rather have a whole bunch of crap before loot crates, but my expectations for PGI are practically nil at this point.

Maybe they'll get around to more important stuff eventually after the grand mech re-scale, but who knows.

It's just going to make the PUG experience that much worse with people running off in random directions to look for the treasure.

In PVE I think it would be awesome. You're not depending on anyone else in PVE, so the crates aren't a distraction.

You aren't at all worried that your team's Lights are going to go crate hunting instead of fighting the enemy? Wouldn't you be upset if that happened and your team got steamrolled because of it?

For sure. Players have been asking for objectives other than TDM. Heres one that will be tough to ignore. :)

Lets get real here, its almost a given Lostech will be found in these crates some day. A rare Lostech weapon with a purpleish beam color....

Ultra rares on their way to MechWarrior Online. :) In the best way possible I might add. No other games have done it like this.

All this of course leads to the thought of an in game galactic trade network.....

This all sounds amazing as long as there isn't a lvl and item grind to be able to play.... which every online game ever made has resorted to..... If this game continues dodge that bullet, among others, then cheers all around from me.

You say now but just wait until you're the only one without them.

No one wants loot crates besides PGI who hopes to grab a bit of money out of them. They would make way more if cosmetic crap wasn't so fracking expensive and they had account wide camo unlocks but whatever. Not like PGI listened to us the first 100 times and they sure won't now.

Loot crates exist because MWO is incapable of coding a tech jump, because they can't code new weapons- at best, they can restat and recolor old ones.

Thus, "content" as shown on the roadmap.

I don't like the crate idea. Just let me spend my mc/cbills on a Snub-Nosed PPC like any other weapon.

I told them I'd buy a Mad Cat MK II gold one at that, clearly money must not be an issue if they were willing to throw away my constant support for bottom barrel mechs and loot crates.

In 3 days I'll have Doom 4 rip MWO my feedback was not needed o7 apparently neither was my money.

I was one of the very few that fought to keep unique geometry... Please spare me your attempt to start a fight.
