Did some crates just fall off a supply dropship?
The utter lack of imagination here is astounding.
Stop right now and change this to a new game mode for us.
And a money maker for you PGI.
Defend the depot or capture the depot.
Depending on amount paid increases the chance of some good loot.
Not just some random flamer or mg's.
Loot should consists consumables, weapons engines consumables or premie time.
And maybe the high odds chance of a random mech variant.
Make it a real depot.
If no one wants to cough up the mc then some random ammo.
You get the idea.
Seriously PGI do this.

I agree, they dropped the ball by not just making a SALVAGE game mode or DEPOT game mode like you mentioned Novakaine.

Its so silly to just throw boxes with bows on them into our matches and expect it to be a beneficial additions to gameplay. I really just dont understand PGI sometimes...anytime anymore. This makes about as much sense and pouring your milk in the bowl BEFORE the cereal, on par with wiping before you poop and boiling your water after you put your noodles in.

This is why I have really stopped caring about this game. I am obly buy my time until Batle Forge gets into Beta, and Battle Tech starts up.

With a little planning, creativity, and foresight the crates would be a great addition to the game...

Unfortunately that means they're probably doomed to fail spectacularly.

They're not that bad... We don't even know how much MC it'll cost to unlock, and what types of rewards they have planned.

I think if anything, I'm rallying for PGI to at least let them be gifted to someone.

It's better to ask for something useful like that than mock the idea. It's no wonder devs keep a straight arm's length away from the forums. Because we don't actually talk about anything worth while, just spew cold rolled $h!7 like this (and other threads) from our finger tips.

But I get it, it's not fun being serious.

Russ just has that one guy next to him, that does not know anything about anything yet he managed to get to his side and somehow convince him to listen to him.

Its that guy that turned to Russ after someone pitched his the "crates" idea and he confidently said. " yea im sure it will work fantastic"

They are lying on the ground and you can only pick them up if you have Hand Actuators equipped like this:

It's PGI's way to make Hand Actuators finally useful and not just for cosmetics!

I won't condone this kind of stuff but it is a HUGE thing in Star Wars: The Old Republic. People pay obscene amounts of money for crates to get stupid stuff like vanity pets, cosmetic gear, speeders, etc. The ironic thing is that none of that is really possible in MW:O so I'm not sure what the heck you could get out of a crate. BUT, there are people out there that would rather spend micro amounts of money for silly things. My OCD really wants me to buy a miniature of every mech I own so that I can see it when I'm in the cockpit of whatever mech I'm driving but I fight that urge. Some folks out there look at it differently. Good on PGI for monetizing weird idiosyncrasies of those willing to throw money around for pixels.

On the flip side of the argument that this is all a waste, how many of you have bought hero mechs? And, how do you rationalize that but disparage those that will buy crates? Just a question.

Hence Why I suggest PGI stops and implement something real and tangible.
In a digital sort of way.
If someone wants to shell out the mc for the crate/depot fine.
If not fill it with random loot.
But this would be a excellent game mode.

I couldn't help but think of Grimer Wormtongue from Lord of the Rings when you said that.
