The title says it all really. We've been trying to take Nyserta for days. The only reason Ghost Bear has two planets currently is because one is our home-world which cant be attacked and the other has been removed from the attack lanes (Gustrell), probably because PGI feel bad for us.

Maybe PGI should have some kind of cull event, where unworthy, pointless and rather embarrassing factions are removed from the game?

Right, I'm off to attack/scout Nyserta again. Or I may shove a red hot poker up my dickens. Hmm, what to do.

MercBear Alliance will rise again - maybe not soon, but eventually.

i stopped dropping on Nyserta and joined the defence of other worlds.
Being a solo-pugger, that upped my chance of getting victories from 0 to 1/4.

Still got 5 victories to go for that free WHK. At this rate, that would be 20 matches. huzzaah.

edit:
Did CGBI, RCGB and GCGB all decide to not drop at all untill the event is over?

GCGB does Drop but as you said, its kinda pointless and we dont have the masses to get Nyserta alone.

CGBI is introducing a unit wide initiative to boost our CW participation. As they say, Rome was not built in one day.

No please dont give us MS... tbh these big Merc Units arent that helpfull at all, sure you have a nice Win Streak a couple of Weeks but for what? Do your Faction gets better, do your Loyalist Units grow? If so why is CSJ crumbling the second time after MS played there in the last 4 Months?
Look at CJF, 228 and KCOM made their success possible. Now that 228 is gone, lets see how good CJF can hold their territory.

The Loyalists Units are just weaker then the big Merc Units, they dont have the Manpower, Skill and Time Frames to attack/defend their Worlds alone. Its also not helpfull having IS with more tonnage and better Mechs in the usual Battle range.

Nyserta should be a waste land by now with the number of battles that have been fought on it. The only thing left is to nuke it from orbit

It seems even MS didn't get much going when they joined the Jags. Took a while before a few planets were taken back.
However, factions should not have to wait for one of the major merc units to make any sort of headway. They might as well be playing the mode by themselves if that was the case.

When one Merc unit is so big that it dwarfs the actual Houses and Clans, and determines the outcome of the Faction Play, it's time for PGI to completely rethink how Merc, Loyalist and Clan Units work.

Oh no, don't even think about it!

There's this one time, in band... i mean, in another thread, some clown from some merc unit said, "as the largest and most stable sources of revenue for pgi" and "they carry the entire company", "drive them away and watch what happens to pgi and mwo."

So "apparently" this big merc unit runs pgi, and anything that won't benefit them won't happen.

i guess we're all **** out of luck.

OP: If you feel the faction you are mercing for, is a laughing stock (as I doubt a loyalist would trash his own clan on an open forum) feel free to move on to another faction to lose all of your pug drops over there.

I've said this over and over again; Mercs ought not ever be contracting for Clans. (especially for this time period) The current merc system is a detriment to the faction wars. While the short sighted might say this would be the end of the clans, the realist understand the large merc units are really just in it for the boot stomping fun of it, and will quickly become bored of Merc'ing for only IS against other houses and against the clans (who at first will suffer). They will have to make a choice of continuing Merc'ing in their limited roles or become loyalists to a faction they could provide, actual meaningful, support.

I, for one, will step away from the game, if a large merc unit starts contracting for Ghost Bear, and will only start playing the game again, to pick up the pieces from the mess they leave when they move on to another faction.

Cub, you must not know how Ghost Bears behave, wait and see, never rush into a fight. We may have been set back, but we are far from out of the fight. Frustrating as it may be Cub, we will be making head way soon enough, once it starts it is near impossible to stop the rampaging Bear.

PGI should allow merc units to contract with multiple Clans/Houses at one time but limit the amount of mercs to 50 that can go on one contract. That way MS or 228 can only have 50 mercs at CGB and 50 mercs at Davion as so on. This would limit their impact on one particular area of the map but would not force the Merc unit to break up.

Make the merc units manage their population.

Loyalist incentives are very lackluster, whereas mercenaries got new shinies in the recent CW iteration. While I like most things in the latest CW model, the rewards and privileges of loyalists are pathetic and if anything, worse than prior models.

House Kurita enjoys a situation where there are several moderately sized and active loyalist units that can and do act in concert within Faction Play; and we are "home base" for a very strong mercenary unit in Night's Scorn. That doesn' t offset having MS show up as our hostile neighbors in FP, but it does keep things lively.

I would not want to see them hit relegation, but I do wonder if the timeline were advanced to the Ghost Bear / FRR amalgamation how that would affect the galactic map.

Well er know FRR has some fairly organized units. Combined with the few Ghost Bear loyalist units. It could be a very strong faction, considering as well the amount of space we would have then being rather dense compared to larder factions IMO we would be a paint for Kurita and if Wolf's back stabbed us, things would not be pretty for them.

CK, my brother trueborn, I request you leave the false Crusader ways and join the Warden way, even if to truly join the Warden way means leaving our home and family of the Great Bear behind. Join me CK in defense of what our ancestors fought to defend, join the true Warden way.
