All in all - the Kodiak will be interesting prey for Lights.... maybe not the Spirit Bear but all the other Kodiaks have at least 2 energy weapons in each arm. With lower and hand activators the movement of those arms will allow some fast target acquiring and better field of fire

True, but still the Kodiak with an 400 rated engine will twist slower than an Atlas with a 350 due to quirks.

I don’t even know what the hard points will be
This is the first Mech pack I have bought

I expect to shed a lot of tears about how bad the Kodiak will suck

But like all my Mechs I will go through every weapon and every combination of weapons

Based on the other assaults in the game the Kodiak
Will probably end up with a bunch of small lasers and a UAC5

KDK-1, I'm thinking a couple large pulse and a the rest ERMLs, with either a UAC10 or gauss in the ballistic. Not sure on the because I made need the extra tonnage for cooling, and the guass reload time bothers me.

KDK-2, no clue. Moar lasorz?

The KDK-3 has me salivating. I'm debating between quad UAC10, UAC10 and UAC5 mix, or dual UAC20. The quad 10 sounds like so much fun, but I am trying to figure out if I am willing to tone down the engine far enough to get the cooling and ammo I am comfortable with.

Spirit Bear begs for 4 ASRM6 and a big ballistic. My question is, does MASC have an assigned hard point like ECM? If so, I don't think you can do MASC and UAC20 with an XL. Which sucks, but hey, you can't have it all.

The way it works for the loyalty wolverine, MASC can go anywhere it will fit - so yes, you can put it in one of the arms.

Technically, one could put Quad ER PPCs or LPL on this and play the Kodiak like a 15 tons heavier Warhawk with 2 extra DHS or a larger Targeting Computer. Thoughts?

Uh.. Build's? I honestly was planning on running most of them stock (Minus the ones with gauss, which I don't like, they'll be replaced with AC 20's). Other than that they all look pretty solid as-is.

Yeah, id thought about that - it might be how i set up the KDK-2.. looks like the arms fill up from the top, so better mounts than the Warhawk, better geometry, JJs, ES instead of FF, lower arm actuators, more agility and the potential to trade a bit of speed for a lot of tonnage (at the same speed the KDK actually has about the same podspace if it maxes armour and runs ES only), all that vs 15% velocity / 8% heat gen quirks on the warhawk..

A kodiak 1 or 5 with a 400 rated engine will twist slower than an Atlas with a 300 due to quirks.

The 2, 3, 4, and SB all have twistyturn quirks though.

2 -
3 - Either: Quad UAC10, 4xERSL; or 2xUAC10 (high mounts) 2xLBX10 (cockpit mounts), 4xERSL. 350XL

Why 2 LBX's?

Maybe, just maybe, I'll run my KDK-3 with dual UAC10's(cockpit) and Dual Gauss (high), and a quartet of ERML's for spice.

So, I've been brutally mangling Li Song's data files, and hacked em up to the point where I can make any Kodiak loadout in the HGN-IIC (O) mech.

Here's my Spirit Bear:

Note that while armor/JJ/MASC/tonnage/etc all work, I simply added enough hardpoints to make any KDK loadout; this means there are too many hardpoints allowed, but I don't care about that. Also, I didn't edit maneuverability stats or add the kdk quirks; I'm just prototyping here and wanted to play.

Edit: Oops, left a JJ on; that's 2t for another 2 DHS.

Oh, to do this? Install Li Song Mechlab, if you haven't already - the newest version. Start it, have it parse the game files. This will create a file called lsml_datacache.xml in your appdata folder (just enter %appdata% in an explorer address bar).

Replace the existing file with this one: https://dl.dropboxus...l_datacache.xml

then edit a HGN-IIC-O (gotta be the O!)

it'll let you make KDK builds (illegal ones, too - there's no fact-checking) but it'll cover all the possibilities. After launch, delete the file and LSML will parse from the (new) game files, fixing the HGN-IIC-O and adding the KDK's properly.
