Hey guys,

First post here despite playing for a few years.

If I preorder the standard pack $20 (ie cyclops), can I wait till the mech is released and only after that purchase the Hero Add on pack for $15 or do I need to buy the Hero add on prior to release aswell?

You can indeed, and in fact, while probably not PGI's preferred method, it's usually the smart way to go.

I just did exactly that with the Kodiak, in fact. Bought the basic pack on preorder, then waited till I had a day of play in to add Reinforcements and Hero.

You can pre-order any package now to qualify for the early adopter rewards, and can then upgrade with any of the add-ons at any time after that, including post release. For example, I only ordered the Kodiak standard package, but I could go and get the Spirit Bear right now on the Kodiak page if I wanted to.

You are wise. I never buy the Collector's. If I ever love a special variant I'd pick one up, but it hasn't happened yet. Really bums me out that the KDK-1 is a weak sister because that skin is so cool.
