My strategy is bring out lights with flamers. You know, those big kodiaks overheat as fast as any slower mech.
Works like charm so far.

Just shoot em like every other assault mech. Don't run straight into it's ACs and don't hug much. They seem to be good assault mechs but don't take that much beating.

are we being grouped with tier 4 or something?

Its like they turn off the tier system every time they release a patch

Im literally getting nothing but loss after loss!!

This is driving me nuts! how is this possible?

If you're Tier 1 and playing solo in QuickPlay you can never have Tier 4s or Tier 5s on your team or the enemy team. It's a hard limit in the MM that you never play with or against anyone more than 2 Tiers away from you.

I know, that was more of a small talk kind of comment, its just rabble.

I guess ill get rid of it since it has come up more than once.

Also I dont know who made this gif, but nice job

Just shoot the CT, the hit box is so large that it cannot take the damage the Atlas can. Every match today was a CT kill.

Even tho I'm levelling the kodiak atm.. Might as well share some points so everyone benefits. The CT on them are huge. Concentrate and focus fire on it and just kill it. It's basically a faster but hotter and squishier atlas.
If it's a dakka kodiak. Just run around perpendicular to it. That spread on clan ac basically mitigates itself against moving targets

There are situational and general strategies that'll work against all mechs, but there is no hard counters available.

The thing is just too agile despite boating an obscene amount of weaponry.

Even lights will get annihilated from a single salvo to any portion of them. Doesn't help that the most common weaponry are UACs and SRMs which will make it extremely easy to splat them. Their turn speed is extremely fast too.

Even 1-on-1 with a DWF, the KDK has the agility to make use of terrain to poke the DWF to death.

The KDK is a completely new breed of OP. The ACH could be countered by streak-crows. The timbergod by assaults, but nothing can counter a KDK. Its on a whole different level.

LOL I already stopped playing my Kodiaks

I was leveling some Warhammers I bought so I went back to them since they are more fun

Best counter to Kodiaks is time, most assaults in this game are on the sucky side

(I am talking all assaults) so just wait a few days and they will die down

The 3 is fun but my other Kodiaks are not so great
I will go on the X2 xp mode

That is play them enough each day to get the X2 bonus and switch to other Mechs

My Ebon Jag buddy Sjlver has been using an UAC20 and 3 ERML, and sneaking up behind them.

Alright what is the strategy to get through this?

I killed quite a few with my King crab, 86 alpha.

Sniping them seems touch and go, alot of medium ranged kodiak builds it seems.

I think the answer is LRMS

we need to bring out the archers, catapults, stalkers, and whatever else.

We will probably need scouts too for spotting. narc and tag will really put the hurt on them.
I never thought I would be saying, "Hey put more damn lrms in the game," But that is exactly what we need right now.

Established effective strategies so far

1. Use light mechs, kill them from behind.

2. Install a flamer on your mech, and overheat them. (especially effective until they get the heat dissipation bonus from the skill tree)

3. Dont get too close

4. lrm the **** out of it.

5. stand on its head!!!

6. Snipy Snipy

7. See how much armor they have on them there legs!

8. Use quick alphas, not duration damage. it has ultra autocannons. (dont sit there trading damage back and fourth.)

9. Apparently It has a massive center torso, Some good alphas to the center should do the trick

10.

Spoiler

Shoot them. A lot. They are not terribly robust.

And yes, from behind or at range is always best.

The best strategy is just put damage on them quickly. They have massive CTs and going for the ST like most other clan mechs isn't necessary. Just hammer them until they go down.
