1. Summary: Neither heat generation quirk is applied when running ER-PPC on a BJ-3.
2. Applicability: Global.
3. Reproducibility: applied to different maps and testing grounds. BJ-3 firing two IS ER-PPCs generated 28 heat instead of approximately 20 with 30% cumulative reduction quirks. Untested whether the general heat generation reduction works for other weapons.

How did you test that to get those numbers, if one may ask ?

1st, do not use Core Math Posted Image

Lack of information - components used - what were related percentages noted on the heatscale?

Xl 235 engine + 1 external isDHS for both BJ-3 and SHawk 2D2
isERPPC = 14 heat
engine DHS = 2.0 to heat cap
external isDHS =1.5 to heat cap
River City/Crimson Straits

Heatscale is in percentages: base 30 + x*eng-DHS + y*ext-isDHS = 30+ 9*2 + 1*1.5 = 49.5 heat pt cap

BJ 3 w/30% heat gen = 34% - approx 16.84 heat points
Shadowhawk 2D2 w/0% heat gen- 50% mark, approx 24.25 heat points

24.25*30% = 7.275
24.25-7.275 = 16.975

16.975 approx around the 16.84 if rounded to whole number of 17

Appears to be working as intended. I have not had my mocha latte w/triple shots yet though...

Edited, added is to designate Innersphere since Clan stats are slightly different.

Tarl, thanks, I had no idea the heat statistics were apples, oranges, and rutabegas. Since I sold the offending mech and weapons after I watched the heat go from 0 to 28 apples after shooting about 20 oranges worth of heat from them, I cannot answer more details about what rutabegas it had. But I have to conclude that I and most typical players will never be able to predict the outcome of those calculations, or know whether any adjustments to them are working. Perhaps the game could do those calculations and only report what the result to the heat level of the mech in the mechbay would be if it is fired.
