Rejoin Is Not An Option Now?

so i got disconnected. again but this time going to quick play to click the rejoin... is not an option i also cant drop in the mech as it is "in game" here is a picture of it.

soo now i get penalized for the game crashing and then not letting me join back in because its not an option.

I think you have to select the row first, then the option rejoin should be available.

if you look closely OP it says rejoin SELECTED match, the keyword being SELECTED. should be fine once you ya know, select one :)

GothicVash, it's very much worth reading Patch Notes when they're released. PGI indicated how to rejoin a match with their changes. Anyway, when you click to QP and ReJoin, that list that comes up is clickable. Click on the match entry you wish to ReJoin, and then the "ReJoin Selected Match" button underneath will light up with blue text and become clickable. I've already had to use it once myself. ;)

OP actually was unable to select the selection, hence the issue

This new UI change is actually quite ********. It is now more cumbersome and time-consuming/confusing to rejoin a match now. Total waste of time and effort.

Yeah, what was this added menu supposed to fix? I mean, it worked fine before. I've had games were I reconnected with seconds left before being attacked. If I had been just a little bit slower, my mech would have been destroyed. Reconnecting should be as streamlined as possible. This extra menu slows things down.

In the event of a crash, we already had to retype our password, log in, wait for the mechlab to load in, then click join. Now we have two more steps. Instead of adding this in, why not make it so we can bypass the mechlab when reconnecting? That would save so much time.

Totally agree. Pointless menu is pointless.
I mean...how often are you going to be disco'ed in MORE than one match so you'd have to choose one ? In all my time playing MWO I can't remember every having that particular problem, even when I had stretches of regular crashes/discos.

Get rid of this, PGI and please focus on more useful features ...

they "fix" things that dont need it all the bloody time. Look at the fact that you USED to be able to choose what mode or modes you did NOT WANT TO PLAY now, you are forced to fight in modes you do not like, and if you still try to "opt" out, you get punished for it. They segregated community warfare and that blew up in their faces with the solo vs team queues. when they rolled that back it shocked me as I never expect them to do the right and LOGICAL thing.

i agree totally that they strapped concrete shoes on us and want us to walk across thin ice...

also forgot that they added voting when we neither want nor need it

How to make the new screen worthwhile:

1) Purchase 100+ Mechs.
2) Play some Quick Play with a Mech you're leveling.
3) Join a Faction Play match (don't use the Mech you were leveling in your drop deck).
4) Get disconnected during your FP match.
5) Use the new dropdown to rejoin the match instead of furiously hunting for one of the four Mechs you included in your dropdeck.
6) Profit???

TLDR;

While this is slightly more complex for QP rejoins, it's much better for rejoining a FP match. So calling it a step back is, IMHO, unfounded. It is, at worst, a step sideways.

So ... why not simply have the game check which 'mech you were last using when a player clicks on "Rejoin FP-Match" and tada, you're back in. I mean, that information is clearly available since you get shown a big fat "In Game" banner on those 'mechs. No need for this silly menu at all. The game actually does that already, doesn't it ? With the added step of you having to pick out the match you want to rejoin yourself.
Makes no sense.

I'm not familiar with the "Rejoin FP-Match" button. Where is it located?

'FW/FP/CW' (different names, same thing) Contracts system needs a rollback or serious change too... Don't forget that. :(

This window seems to be a redundant extra step. Old way was faster.
Is this a prep for some features in the future?

Okay, so you're asking for a new button to be added somewhere on the UI? I don't think that's likely because there isn't room at the lower resolutions (like how the the Mechlab behaves differently at smaller resolutions because they ran out of room for all the buttons there).

IMHO, all they really need to do is, if the Mech you have selected is already in a game, pre-select the match that Mech is in. Two clicks very close together isn't bad, three gets a little tedious. But it's still better than trying to pick 4 out of a list of 100+ when you're trying to rejoin an FP match.

EDIT:

Don't get me started on wishing we had a filter:

All -> Valid -> Invalid

Like we have:

All -> Inner Sphere -> Clan
All -> Owned -> Trial

If this new extra step is for FP,CW,XYZ, whatever, then why not just make it so it works with 'Faction Play' only? Sounds like more lazy programing. All it's good for in 'Quick Play' (name still cracks me up) is to piss players/customers off...and it's working! Nothing more irritating that to leave a match after getting rolled and die, then pick another mech to move on to the next match, click QP and get yet another window that pops up and may as well say, "Do you want to go back to that butt-reaming of a match you just left, or move on like you said you did in the first place?" Another PGI/Russ FAIL!
