In the German forum already existed to the demand for up to 16 players for the event.
We have a new moderator, who still needs to ask himself, and therefore take the answer a little longer.

Many teams will be happy to reschedule matches, as long as you do it when it suits them better, which may or may not suit you.

I think PGI has it locked down for a reason. They verified each player and team before proceeding. I wonder how many teams submitted and didn't get to play.

I don't get it. Why wouldn't you already have your team stacked with all the "ringers" at first anyway. The issue is about folks who have gone dark, or can't make the schedule, not skill....
Im confused

pretty sure somewhere near 70 teams did not make it past the vetting, If I remember correctly the total number of teams before vetting was 220+ ish and we are now down to about 150 total...so, many did not make it

By ringers, I mean that if PGI opens up team changes, you will see ringers appear during the months of competition. Competitive players will be drawn to the tournament if they didn't get originally involved early on. The evolving player base of PGI new comers is changing all the time. Good players come back or are born by 24/7 type playing.

A "ringer" by its very definition is a fraudulent substitution. The rules/logs/referees should be able to suss those out, and there is nothing having stopped that from happening during initial sign up. To use that as a basis for your statement doesn't sound correct. That being said, don't we want the best of the best? New players, competitors, and interest in MWO spiking because of this tournament is a GOOD THING! Most professional sports have trade/draft cutoffs, and it doesn't hurt the sanctity of those sports. CAL and TWL (plus a host of other "player" run leagues I've been in) allow roster changes during certain windows. Meh, I'm just whining about the level of effort I have to put in to make this work. I know others have to as well. Moving on. Thanks for the conversation.

Teams should be locked the earliest in the next phase. No one could anticipate such a sheer amount of matches in before the tournament started.
WE NEED AND OPTION TO SWITCH ONE OR TWO PEOPLE OUT.

It was known well before the tournament schedule that loads of teams in the US and Europe will be competing and that every team will have to play every other team during sometime before December the 9th minus time for PGI to organize flights to Canada for the finalists.
The official schedule is crap due to the fact that it is limited to 1 fight per day per team (EU schedule at least) on 3 days a week, but there is the possibility of messaging your opponent and organizing a better time slot as long as it happens before the end of the week you are meant to play in. It doesnt even have to be played in the same week. You can even theoretically pull a September match forward and play it tomorrow if you and your opponent agree on this.
If some of your members cant make a certain day.. then show some initiative and message your opponents informing them of your play schedule and when you can make it. You may be surprized, but other teams may also be facing the exact same problem as you are and will be very happy to re-schedule.
If some of your members cant make it because they give up due to needing to play so many games... why the heck did you invite these players to join your team if they werent ready to play 50-100 matches in total even before the schedule was announced?
Re-Scheduling is possible and shouldnt pose a problem, especially as you are provided with all the relevant data to contact your opposing team captain, therefore replacing players is not needed. Players giving up half way through is an internal problem and should not be permitted.
