Is anybody else enjoying the diversity of weapons currently in use in Pugland? Obviously there has been a rather dramatic spike in U-AC/10 use of late... but most rounds I'm shot at by any combination of; gauss, PPC, lasers, Ac's and UAc's, Lrms and srms... and on occasion MG's and Flamers. (oh and narc'd from time to time too Posted Image!).

Not saying that everything is perfect and balanced and all ... but overall its not terrible when there is such a variety of beams, missiles and projectiles trying to kill me.... as I meander though lush forests searching for picnic spots, traverse fiery hells looking for the way back to the black gate, go worm hunting in the desert, whilst avoiding white-walkers in the snow and wondering why I can't see any tie fighters in space.Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

Then you've got the LBx family, the isSL, the SRM2, LRM20

There's still plenty of rubbish, things that have been rubbish for the better part of 2 years.
Well, at least the Flamer didn't reach 4 years of uselessness, only 3,5 (due to the magic of a SINGLE BLOODY ATTRIBUTE CHANGE!)

PGI doesn't like changing attributes.

Absolutely I agree... plenty of areas that need improvement :)

Let's not forget the Command Console still needs a buff like PGI apparently has.

I actually don't see that much Gauss - it's become a rarity for me. I have seen an uptick in PPCs though.

i dont really use gauss unless i can carry 2 of them. as a single weapon in a mixed loadout its charge mechanic really screws up my fire control.

I had a match on Canyon with a firestarter who at the start said "If you guys aren't ******* and want to brawl, I will shutdown mechs for you" and over the course of the match he shutdown at least 3 mechs with flamers while we killed them. MVP

crazy... opposite for me... I can't remember many games (this week especially) where I haven't heard or been hit by Gauss. At least some of these builds have been trial mechs.

Funnily enough I think it stopped having as many people use it due to the fact the flame thrower turned into a rave party on budget...

I wish the attribute was the only thing they've changed Posted Image

I've noticed recently that flamers seem to have a ghost heat multiiplying effect.

If an alpha made someone's heat jump to 50% without flamers.

With flamers, the same alpha might cause their heat to jump to 110%.

Did flamers always work this way, or is it a recent development?

Yeah, it's gotten to the point for me that I'm actually surprised when I get hit by it. When I see it, I usually see several instances of it in the same match. However, there are long periods in between where I don't see any Gauss at all.

Of course, that doesn't mean that it's not necessarily there. It may just be on a Mech I don't target during the battle, and I might just not be witnessing it's effects. There are an awful lot of such matches though, which makes me skeptical.

Probably always, and a bug

Might also tie into how you gain 100% dissipation rate when you get to 90% heat (the cap)

Lacking dissipation naturally makes your weapons run hotter...but it seems slightly broken at the same time.
