I'm sure this has been asked before, but I couldn't find an answer. Why does the voice chat not extend to the lobby so you can continue voice comms with any of your unit that are not in matches? I think this would be a great addition to the game.

I think you are saying you want to be able to chat in match with your friends outside of a particular match you are in? If that is the question then I would say that would be highly distracting to others in the match with you and a good reason this is not currently a feature.

No, sorry if it read that way. I agree that that wold be very distracting. I'm just saying that when you are in your lobby/mechlab, voice chat should work with your unit, anyone that is also not in a match. Does that make sense? Currently you have to type in the unit chat unless you have a 3rd party program like teamspeak. I'm not sure why they wouldn't add this feature since they already have voip capability.

Because it would make me put a gun in my mouth and pull the trigger. Joking aside probably some choice not to or lack of foresight. Honestly I've had voip muted day one since it came out. But I play with units over teamspeak and it's not CS:GO where I need instant information.
NOW if they added a voice modulator like in Elite Dangerous to make it sound like it's over coms for immersion I would turn it on.

I just find it irritating to try to communicate with unit mates in the lobby as you have to bounce back and forth from the mechlab to the community tab or whatever it is called to see who is typing what. Having a voice chat option here would be pretty helpful in my opinion.
