Those players that see a few mechs have dropped who start to run away from the battle instead of trying to push to a better spot.....No matter how much you type or talk, they still hide and get their **** pushed in...

I'm confident that you relay instructions to your team members with the utmost respect and kindness. I wonder why then they would ignore your commands, defy your brilliant strategy?

I LOL'd. But the OP does have a valid point. Scaredy players do tend to lose matches.

(Note: I'm not advocating stupid Leroying. But when I pug, I see far too many Mechs that hide in one place, don't manoeuver and don't shoot back. Trying to carry them does get frustrating after a while.)

If the game limited the amount of chat text you could send after you died to no greater than the amount you sent before you died, most of the dingbats who chew out their team afterwards wouldn't be allowed to say anything after they died because they contributed no plans or info of value while alive in the game.

Yes, scared players lose games, but yelling at them after it is too late for a plan to do any good accomplishes nothing.

More leadership, less "wise dead guy" would help this game greatly.

I see some one else got drafted into team nose picker this afternoon. Trust me, I know EXACTLY what you are ranting about. It was bad today. BAD. Like "I wonder if they can read or speak English even" bad.

Buck up, it's about time for Puggy shift change so a new batch of squirrels and cats are punched in and ready for herding. Get back in there Mechwarrior!

I remember one time I watched an Atlas on Polar Highlands charge straight for the enemy team by himself within the first minute of contact with the enemy team, get blown away in seconds, promptly call his entire team (me included) a "bunch of cocksuckers" and then proceed to report his entire team for non-participation even though we were all actively engaged with the enemy, just not... you know... suiciding... We won that match.

Just play during NA Prime time, if you want English speaking people who are likely to push with ya. It is just how it is.

hard to type when Im actively engaged, unlike the "hiders" but most of the time is simply "push!!" or "stop hiding!!".

The issue is that a lot of players have the wrong reaction to dropping 1-3 mechs. This is not the game to hunker down and hide, you need to start laying metal and energy down range, hit over-drive and engage.

It certainly isnt given to everyone to figure out that in a fps it's best to kill your enemy.

So does trying to move and melting to the first mech that sees you. Peek around a corner or something, try to move and fight and its just wham, bam, thank you ma'am, critical damage...back to the garage.

My favorite is when folks vote for domination and then don't get in the circle. But hey, when in PUGs I expect the worst, and then I am never surprised.

It can be frustrating when you come out of CW where folks move as a team, focus objectives and targets, and have each other's back. But again, when in PUGs... expect the worst.

It's also kind of frustrating when you are getting yelled at for hiding. Except you're not hiding. You are legit pinned down. If you break cover you're suddenly getting smacked by three to four enemy targets. Sorry, but I've got nowhere I can go and nothing I can do but continue hiding and hoping for an opportunity to break away for a more advantageous position. I'm a very mobile player. But sometimes, you just get pinned. It'd be much harder to pin me down if we had better TTK where I could just suck it up, accept the fact that I am about to lose some armor, and run through the rain. But as it stands, even if I'm in a damned Atlas I'll either be dead or close enough to it that I might as well be dead by the time I manage to reposition. Usually though, if this has happened to me, it's a case of my team has already been outmaneuvered and surrounded to the point where no matter which way you try to go you're getting shot and the match is already lost anyway.

I sometime meet Assaults teammates that so scared always hiding in the back when we had a chance. We tried to chat like push, flank, go we push together, etc. But nope, Assaults just stop and never moves. And then we get roflstomp because of that. It's really painful to watch.

You're probably part of the problem with this "hiding tactic"...

So what you are saying is that you put yourself into a bad position and are now stuck playing defensively and passively....That doesnt work in MWO, never has and never will.

Lets say that people are more timid than ever, which I disagree with because I see plenty of aggressive pushing in my games and often I'm the leader of the push in my Assault.

Now that mechs can put 40+ damage down 600m you have a totally new playing field. 4 UAC5 crabs double taping 6 UAC5 DWFs double tapping 4 UAC10 KDKs double tapping and Dual Gauss ruin days faster than ever. It is no wonder that people don't want to peek because Half their armor is gone in the burn of 2 cERLL or 2cLPL. The sniper game is strong, and the LRM rain is still a threat. There are guys in Tier 1 that are LRM badassses and prove they can be used effectively in every tier.

It used to be that assaults didn't carry Dual Gauss, you had Gauss Cats, JM6s and CTFs but with them you had a weak side torso that spelled death and a really slow engine. Now assaults can bring the pain from afar with the MAL, DWF, KDK, KGC on STD engines or cXL. They are still slow but they can wreck a peek in a in second.

I lead pushes, I bring an Assault most of the time and when I do you can expect me to die gloriously. My K/D is ****, its .7 and my archived K/D was .4...I'm not tier 1 or 2 but I lead charges that lose or win matches. I'd rather lead a charge and lose than stand around and win. It probably has something to do with ADhD and my lack of patience but I spend a lot of matches on the VOIP saying "Follow me in" or "Push push push"

If I was more careful I'd be tier 2 or maybe even 1. If I brought meta builds more often or could aim for **** I would be rocking a better K/D.

People in my tier, in my experience, with my ******** unscientific anecdotal evidence aren't afraid. Lights still run through the entire enemy team and often die. Heavies and Assaults still go out in the open and get killed by LRMs. People haven't really changed in these last few years to me.

Pretty much this. It's not hard to understand why people don't want to peek when doing so can now cost you an entire side torso or all of your CT armor in less than a second.

I takes a while until you know how much hits you can take and *still* survive.

And it takes a while to know the steering.

However, a as a good player you should be able to react and play supporting the style of the less skilled ones instead of demanding from them to adopt to your style. This would increase the chance to win dramatically.
At least in comparison to yelling from the grave.
